Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) was absent from the recent vote on the Republican party’s nominee for House Speaker. His absence was due to his presence in Israel, where he was actively involved in the evacuation of a group of his constituents from the conflict zone.
The distinguished military veteran and Republican representative emphasized that his journey to Israel was motivated by a desire to provide assistance, express solidarity with Israeli citizens, and aid in the evacuation of American citizens.
Mills expressed his deep disappointment with reports suggesting that the Biden Administration was not adequately facilitating the departure of American citizens from the region. To date, he has successfully assisted 32 Americans and intends to remain in Israel for as long as needed to continue these efforts.
“There are still a lot of Americans trying to get out,” Mills told Fox News. “They have no plan. They have no strategy to get these Americans out who are trapped – and these church groups who have been left behind.”
There are as many as 16,000 stuck in Israel, Fox News reported.
“Since the Biden administration has failed to do their job once again, i’ve stepped in to rescue Americans stranded in war-torn Israel,” he said. “While the administration has a record of leaving Americans behind, I refuse to be a part of their reckless inaction.”
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) blasted the Biden administration – and called for immediate help.
“After going through this with both Afghanistan and Ukraine, it’s unconscionable that the Biden Administration is not executing a plan to safely get American citizens home as soon as possible,” she said. “If other countries like Poland have military planes on the ground and are conducting evacuations, there’s no reason why the U.S. is not doing the same. We need immediate action from President Biden, the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense to get commercial, charter and military planes on the ground to get Americans home as quickly as possible.”
“I hope we don’t see a repeat of what happened in 2021 in Afghanistan when Americans were left behind and abandoned by this administration,” Mills said. “I hope we can get as many Americans out as possible.”

So far he’s saved 32 Americans and going back for more. Told me he won’t stop until he’s an impediment or can’t get them out pic.twitter.com/PmhrZGrYE2
