In a recent poll conducted by SSRS for CNN, it was revealed that former President Donald Trump has significantly widened his lead over President Joe Biden in national surveys. Trump’s lead now stands at a remarkable 6 points (49–43 percent), which is well beyond the margin of error. Surprisingly, 8% of the respondents are still undecided.

This is a significant shift from previous polls where Trump’s lead over Biden was much smaller or they were virtually tied, as indicated by RealClearPolitics’ average of polling data. Interestingly, this change occurred in April, coinciding with the start of Trump’s first criminal trial in Manhattan on 34 felony counts related to a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels. It is worth noting that Daniels publicly stated in a letter back in 2018 that she did not have an affair with the future president.

“And in the coming rematch, opinions about the first term of each man vying for a second four years in the White House now appear to work in Trump’s favor, with most Americans saying that, looking back, Trump’s term as president was a success, while a broad majority says Biden’s has so far been a failure,” the polling firm said. “Republicans now are more unified around the idea that Trump’s presidency was a success than Democrats are that Biden’s has been one. Overall, 92% of Republicans call Trump’s time in office a success, while just 73% of Democrats say Biden’s has been a success so far. Among independents, 51% say Trump’s presidency was successful, while only 37% see Biden’s as a success,” the analysis continued.

In a five-way race featuring independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West, as well as Green Party candidate Jill Stein, a CNN poll revealed that Trump holds 42% of the support, while Biden trails behind with 33%. Kennedy garners 16% of the support, West with 4%, and Stein with 3%. Interestingly, Kennedy draws 13% of his support from both Biden and Trump supporters in a two-way matchup.

According to voters, the economy holds greater significance compared to the past two presidential contests. A staggering 70% of all Americans express dissatisfaction with the current economic conditions in the U.S. Furthermore, other major issues vary significantly depending on party affiliation.

The analysis highlights that among Democratic-aligned voters, key concerns include protecting democracy (67%), abortion (54%), the economy (52%), gun policy (51%), and health care (49%). On the other hand, GOP-aligned voters prioritize the economy (79%), immigration (71%), crime (65%), and then democracy (54%).

Undoubtedly, Trump’s lead has grown due to increased support from voting blocs that traditionally lean heavily Democratic. Black voters, particularly black men, Hispanics, and young voters aged 18-29 have been steadily increasing their support for Trump. A recent survey conducted earlier this month revealed that Trump’s polling among the younger voter demographic has reached its lowest point in recent election cycles for the Democratic candidate.

“The latest Harvard Institute of Politics (IOP) Youth Poll shows Biden at 50% to Trump’s 37% in a head-to-head matchup among 18- to 29-year-olds. In a five-way race with Robert Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein, and Cornel West factored in, Biden’s lead shrinks even more among young voters as he leads Trump by just seven percentage points with 16% of those surveyed saying they were still undecided,” The Daily Wire reported on Thursday.

“In the 2020 election, both Gen Z (ages 18-23) and Millennial (ages 24-39) voters favored Biden by 20 percentage points, according to Pew Research,” the outlet noted further.

WHAM reported on Friday that a district attorney from upstate New York became verbally abusive towards officers and requested preferential treatment after driving away from a traffic stop. According to bodycam footage obtained by WHAM, Sandra Doorley, the District Attorney of Monroe County, refused to pull over her car when a police officer tried to stop her for speeding 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. Instead, Doorley proceeded to drive home while contacting the chief of police to express her dissatisfaction. Upon reaching her driveway, she encountered officers who she tried to manipulate using her position in order to avoid taking responsibility for her actions.

“I didn’t want to pull over on Phillips Road. I just figured I’d pull up to my driveway,” Doorley tells an officer.

Doorley requested the officer to simply issue her a speeding ticket, however, the officer stated that her failure to stop after he tried to pull her over constituted an “arrestable offense,” as shown in the recorded footage. In another video segment, Doorley asserts to an officer that she possesses a superior understanding of the law compared to him and instructs him to “leave my residence immediately.”

“You know what I’ve been dealing with all day? Three murders in the city,” Doorley tells an officer. “Do you think I really care if I was going 20 miles over the speed limit?”

Doorley issued a statement one day before the release of the bodycam footage, wherein she acknowledged her actions and confessed to pleading guilty for speeding in a municipal court on Tuesday.

Mark Levin, a host on Fox News, is cautioning Republicans to closely monitor the developments in the Trump trials and at the Supreme Court. During a conversation with his colleague Sean Hannity on Fox News, they discussed the campus demonstrations against Israel taking place at numerous universities across the United States:

“Let’s start with the Hitler youth on our college and university campuses,” he said. “Joe Biden has gaslit this entire thing with his comments about Israel, his attacks on Bibi Netanyahu, his attacks on Israel trying to defend itself against Gaza and all the rest, Joe Biden is responsible for much of the hate and that’s why he doesn’t stand up like a man, like a statesman and put it down and say it in unequivocal terms. This isn’t about Palestine. This is about terrorism on our college campuses.

“Joe Biden has been on the wrong side whether it was race and bigotry when he walked into the Senate, and now, it’s antisemitism. He’s the antisemite president, that’s what he is, the Third Reich in the Ivory Tower. It’s been written about, the Third Reich in the Ivory Tower, Hitler’s American friends, it’s been written about, buried by “The Times,” the American media, they’re all back,” he said.

“The Democrat Party, the Hitler youth on our campuses, and let me make a suggestion, America, aren’t you sick of paying for this? We need a BDS movement, a boycott, divest, and sanction movement for all of these universities and colleges, start defunding them, start defunding them, start eliminating tenure for these sanctimonious Marxist, Islamist professors. Take our college campuses back from the Soviet-style, you know, fanatics that run them,” the host and legal expert said.

“We don’t have to have these no-go zones in our country. These universities in our country. Notice, they’re all in Democrat cities, almost all in Democrat states.

“This isn’t happening among Republicans and so forth, but I want to point out something about the Supreme Court case since you have brought that up. Let me say something that hasn’t been said yet, the court is sitting there trying to be King Solomon and decide how they’re going to cut up the baby, cut the baby in half,” he said. “And King Solomon said no, and the mother of the baby said, no, no, no, no, don’t do it. Give it to the fraud. Give the baby to the fraud.”

“Let me explain something. Since the beginning of this country, since elections, we have never had a situation where elections have been criminalized by the government. They talk about fake electors. In 1876, three Republican states had a second set of electors. They’re not fake electors. They’re electors that are set. Congress makes the final decision, there’s nothing criminal, there’s nothing obstructive about it,” the host said.

“A president or a candidate calling a speaker of the House, calling a board of elections official, calling a governor, so what? Big deal. They’re allowed to do that, that’s not obstruction, that’s not a crime either.

“Or trying to get a legislature to bring their laws back to what they were before the Democrats were in there litigating, that’s not a crime either. But you know what? They keep talking about overturning election, an election is decided by the United States Congress, that meets in joint session to count the Electoral College votes,” he said.

“Ask Jamie the Red Raskin who jumps up every time and objected to two times George W. Bush being elected president. Ask him when he jumped up in 2016, said, don’t count the electors, Donald Trump’s not the real president.

“These challenges happen all the time, and yes, even when John Eastman said to Vice President Pence, we recommend that you don’t do this, that you do that, that’s not a crime either. In 1876, that’s exactly what happened. How come Rutherford B. Hayes wasn’t charged? How come the electors in Florida and Louisiana weren’t charged? How come all of a sudden, all of a sudden, this entire electoral process is criminalized where today we don’t know what’s even legal anymore?” he said.

“You can’t have a slate of electors. We used to do that. You can’t call a Board of Elections official. We used to do that. You can’t lobby a governor or Congress. The Democrats have done this all the time. Let me just say this Supreme Court, you made a big mistake, and all the legal analysts, too—they’re sitting there,” the host said.

“What’s an official act? What’s a private act? No, no, no, no, no. You’re not Solomon. This should not be criminalized. We have an electoral system and a political system. We have states, we have a Congress. They should sort the things out—not you. That’s why you can’t figure out what to do,” he said before getting into the immunity case at the Supreme Court.

“This immunity stuff you were dragged into — you were dragged into Jack Smith’s world. When you were dragged in it before, you ruled eight to zero against him. When it involved Bob McDonnell in Virginia, he’s twisted the Constitution, he’s criminalized the election,” the host said.

“He’s using the 1871 Klan Act, for God’s sake. He’s using the Enron Act, which you court you’re now looking at, and seeing if that’s constitutional and a Federal Contractor Act, he looked for anything he could to go after Donald Trump. He has weaponized this process,” he said.

“You do not criminalize the political process. You do not criminalize the electoral process, and now you have Democrat district attorneys running loose doing the same thing.

“Supreme Court, have the guts to put this back in the box. I don’t care what the commentators on CNN and MSNBC say. Have the guts to say, wait a minute, courts, get the hell out of this business. This is not up to us. It’s up to the people, their elected representatives and Congress, not us,” he said.

Republican presidential contenders have faced defeat in New York for many years, while Democrats have strengthened their dominance in the state by securing supermajorities in the Assembly and other key elected positions. Nevertheless, this has not discouraged one of New York’s well-known former inhabitants.

Donald Trump announced on Thursday his intention to campaign in New York, with rallies scheduled at Madison Square Garden and in the Bronx, an area partly overseen by far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) in Congress.

“The last time the Bronx was the center of a Republican presidential campaign was in 1984, when Ronald Reagan won by a landslide,” Breitbart News reported. While visiting a construction site in lower Manhattan before going to court on Thursday, Trump received a warm welcome from workers and residents of New York City. He mentioned to a Fox News reporter that he planned to make a move for the state.

“I think we have a good chance of winning here and we’re going to give it a big plan,” he said. “We’re going to the South Bronx to do a rally. We’re going to be doing a rally at Madison Square Garden, we believe.”

Breitbart reported that the rallies will primarily emphasize the recognition of police officers, firefighters, and teachers. Trump expressed his intention to honor the individuals who contribute to the functioning of New York. He also expressed optimism about the upcoming events, stating that they hold a strong possibility of success. In his address, Trump voiced his opposition to President Joe Biden’s costly economic policies, voiced criticism towards open borders, and denounced the anti-Israel demonstrations occurring in several prestigious American universities.

“[Police] would like to be at the colleges” to secure those campuses “because what’s happening at the colleges is a disgrace,” Trump said, as he drew a contrast between the NYPD being stationed at the Manhattan courthouse instead of the college campuses. “This courthouse is locked down and there’s not a person within five blocks. They have more police here.”

“This is the worst-run country right now,” the former president added. “All you have to do is look at the millions of people coming in from prisons, from mental institutions — coming in at levels we’ve never seen before.”

“So I’m gonna go in now and sit in front of a case — election interference,” Trump said. “But I guess based on what I’m looking at, it’s driving up my poll numbers.”

According to a Morning Consult/Bloomberg poll released on Wednesday, Trump has disrupted Biden’s recent progress in national polling by outperforming him in swing states. The poll reveals that Trump is leading in six out of the seven swing states for the 2024 election, highlighting his ongoing supremacy over Biden.

Even individuals who typically criticize Trump, like Karl Rove, an adviser to George W. Bush, have acknowledged his accomplishments. Rove praised Trump’s consistent messaging tactics this week on Fox News, stating, “He’s done this several times before, whoever’s advising him on this ought to be given a gold star because it’s good advice.”

“It is better for him to grab moments like this, walking in and commenting on the news of the day,” Rove said, “rather than making it all about what he feels [about the criminal trial]. And he feels obviously strongly about this — about … his treatment in this case; we’ve heard that once or twice already,” he added. “We don’t need to hear it again.”

Hollywood elites are organizing a fundraiser for President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, set to take place in mid-June. The event is expected to include prominent figures such as George Clooney, former President Barack Obama, and former Disney executive Jeffrey Katzenberg, who serves as Biden’s campaign co-chair. Sources suggest that Julia Roberts might also be in attendance.

Despite facing criticism from the general public due to issues such as rising consumer prices and high levels of illegal immigration, Hollywood continues to show strong support for Biden. Concerns about the president’s cognitive decline have also been raised by voters across the political spectrum.

Jeffrey Katzenberg, in his role as Biden’s re-election co-chair, has pledged to gather the necessary resources for a successful campaign. Previous fundraisers, such as the one in New York featuring Obama and former President Bill Clinton, have been successful in raising significant amounts of money.

However, dissatisfaction with Biden’s performance as president is growing among ordinary Americans, as indicated by recent surveys.

Several recent surveys indicate that a significant portion of voters trust former President Donald Trump more than President Joe Biden to address the key issues leading up to the November election. For instance, an NBC News poll highlighted inflation and personal finance as the primary concerns among voters. The majority of participants expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to tackle these challenges effectively compared to the current president. Specifically, when asked about managing rising costs, 52% of respondents favored Trump, while only 30% believed Biden could handle the issue better, despite inflation being a prominent issue during his presidency.

“The survey also found that the crisis at the southern border is the second most important issue to voters, another area where Biden was found to trail Trump. When asked about their opinion of the president’s handling of immigration and the crisis at the border, a whopping 69% of respondents said they disapprove of Biden’s handling of the crisis.”

The April NBC poll did not ask participants about their present opinions on Trump’s management of the immigration crisis. Nonetheless, a January NBC study showed that 57% of respondents favored the ex-president’s strategy on the border matter, while only 22% supported Biden’s approach. In addition, the poll indicated that if the election took place today, Trump would only surpass Biden by 2 points, with 46% to 44%.

“The results are the most recent in a string of polling that shows voters are not only most worried about the border and rising costs, but that they trust Trump to be the best presidential candidate to handle the issues,” Fox noted. “Recent Fox News statewide surveys in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin mirrored the results that Trump is the preferred candidate to handle the issues of immigration and the economy over Biden.”

Furthermore, the findings of a recent survey conducted by Axios/Ipsos revealed that 42% of Latino voters consider Trump to be advantageous for the economy, while only 20% share the same perspective regarding Biden. In terms of immigration, 29% of Latino respondents expressed a positive opinion about Trump, in contrast to 22% who favored Biden. NBC’s Steve Kornacki and Meet the Press host Kristen Welker expressed their astonishment while discussing these outcomes on Sunday.

“We talk about the erosion for Biden, and now you start to see it. Look at these numbers,” Kornacki said while reacting to the latest survey.

According to Politico, the Pentagon is making preparations to send a substantial aid package to Ukraine once President Joe Biden signs the long-awaited Ukraine aid bill into law. The specific contents of the package have not been finalized by the Department of Defense (DOD) planners, but it is likely to include crucial items such as armored Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, artillery, and air defenses that Ukraine urgently requires. These details were shared by two anonymous U.S. officials who spoke to Politico. The aid package is expected to be considerably larger than the usual $300 million package provided by the Pentagon, as stated by one of the officials. Another U.S. official, who is knowledgeable about the discussions, also confirmed this information.

One of the officials informed Politico that the Pentagon aims to deliver a substantial package to address Ukraine’s battlefield needs. However, U.S. officials are concerned about Ukraine’s diminishing prospects of achieving a military victory against Russia. If Ukraine’s supporters do not provide the much-needed equipment, Politico reports that Kyiv could face defeat by the end of the year.

Politico also mentioned that the aid package may include older Humvees and M113 armored personnel carriers, as per the Pentagon’s planners. The House has already passed a $61 billion budget for the Pentagon to allocate towards security assistance for Ukraine. This upcoming package will not only replenish U.S. stockpiles but also procure new equipment to be delivered to Kyiv. According to CNN, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated that the Senate will vote on the foreign aid package on Tuesday, and it is expected to pass without difficulty.

Biden told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky he will “quickly provide significant new security assistance packages to meet Ukraine’s urgent battlefield and air defense needs as soon as the Senate passes the national security supplemental and he signs it into law” on a call Monday.

According to Politico, a senior Pentagon official informed legislators that the package would be prepared “within a week or two” following the president’s approval of the aid funding.

The debatability of that assessment cannot be denied. Undoubtedly, the Mike Johnson of just a few months ago would have vehemently contested it. However, the relentless and forceful persuasion from the determined Zelensky, who seemingly captivated the Louisiana Congressman during their encounter, along with the support from the White House, ultimately achieved its desired outcome.

Johnson’s triumph on Saturday solidified a remarkable turnaround from his longstanding stance of staunch opposition to advancing foreign aid without ensuring the security of America’s own borders. Yet, for Zelensky and the Democrats who proudly waved a foreign flag on the floor of the United States House of Representatives, Johnson’s abandonment of his previous position was cause for celebration.

In his final remarks on the latest episode of HBO’s “Real Time,” Bill Maher asserted that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was accurate in his criticism of Disney for allegedly sexualizing children. Joe Biden’s team made an effort to portray him as a relatable figure similar to his potential GOP opponent, Donald Trump, by organizing a stop at a local convenience store on his way to Pittsburgh International Airport after delivering a speech at the United Steelworkers Headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh.

Biden’s visit to the Sheetz convenience store on Thursday, where he purchased sandwiches for construction workers, received considerably less attention compared to Trump’s recent visit to a Bodega in Harlem, as shown in online videos. During his time at the store, Biden struggled with answering questions before leaving in his motorcade.

“While the Pittsburgh Post Gazette also reported that Biden was flanked by Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey and Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, the overall response to his presence seemed incredibly tame for a sitting president only a few months away from his re-election bid,” The Western Journal noted.

It was known as the “Jose Alba bodega” where, in 2022, a worker named Jose Alba tragically stabbed an attacker who approached him from behind the counter. Alba was apprehended and faced murder charges under Bragg’s jurisdiction. Following his arrest, Alba was incarcerated in Ryker’s Island jail with a bail set at $250,000. However, due to widespread public outcry, his charges were eventually dismissed.

During a segment of the “Greg Kelly Report” on Newsmax, which was shared on the X platform, the former president addressed the escalating crime rates that have plagued New York City’s bodegas. Notably, an organization representing numerous bodegas publicly endorsed him.
