Breaking: Hunter’s Lawyer Threatens Trump In New Demand Letter

(CBrief) – Another Biden appears to be setting his sights on former President Donald Trump.

Earlier this week, Law360 correspondent Frank G. Runyeon shared a “cease and desist” letter he obtained from Hunter Biden attorney Abbe David Lowell to lawyers for the former president.

“Hunter Biden’s attorney demands Donald Trump cease & desist from statements ‘both defamatory and likely to incite’ violence against the U.S. president’s son,” Runyeon noted on Twitter in a post containing a screenshot of the demand letter.

Lowell, with the Winston & Strawn law firm, addressed members of Trump’s legal team in the demand letter as well.

“As you know, Winston & Strawn represents, and I am writing on behalf of our client, Hunter Biden,” the letter began.

“I am sending this letter to make a demand that your client, former President Donald Trump, cease and desist from making public statements about my client which are both defamatory and likely to incite Mr. Trump’s followers to take actions against Mr. Biden and which could lead to his or his family’s injury,” Lowell wrote.

The attorney specifically highlighted a post made by the former president on his Truth Social platform, which targeted David Weiss, the U.S. attorney in Delaware responsible for overseeing the prosecution of Hunter Biden on charges related to taxes and firearms.

“Weiss is a COWARD, a smaller version of Bill Barr, who never had the courage to do what everyone knows should have been done. He gave out a traffic ticket instead of a death sentence,” Trump noted in his post.

In June, Hunter Biden agreed to a plea deal that keeps him out of prison for the tax and gun charges, though that deal has since been scrutinized.

In particular, Lowell took umbrage with Trump’s reference to a “death sentence.”

“You may respond that this was a mere figure of speech,” he wrote. “However, we have seen that what might pass as such a phrase when uttered by rational people is heard by too many in this country as some terrible injustice for which they must take physical and violent action.”

Lowell then falsely blamed any deaths that occurred in the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot on Trump and his rhetoric, though as president at the time, he encouraged supporters to “peacefully” march to the Capitol to protest the outcome of the 2020 election.

Biden’s attorney said his demand letter is “not a false alarm” before proceeding to invoke former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, who was assaulted in their home last year by a crazed vagrant.

Lowell made reference to a report that said Pelosi’s assailant had Hunter Biden’s name on a “hit list” as well.

“We are just one such social media message away from another [Pelosi-like] incident, and you should make clear to Mr. Trump — if you have not done so already — that Mr. Trump’s words have caused harm in the past and will and threaten to do so again if he does not stop,” he wrote.

Recently, Kathleen Buhle, Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, dished on their marriage in a tell-all memoir called, “If We Break.”

The book details Buhle’s side of the story regarding her divorce from Hunter Biden and how their split played out in court.

“In February 2017, Buhle alleged in a legal filing that her estranged ex had spent money on drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, and strip clubs. Buhle’s book doesn’t shy away from those previous disclosures; instead, it will shine a light on the heavy toll addiction can take on relationships, according to the book’s publisher,” People reported last year.

Outrage: LA Fines Businessman For Flying American Flag

(TStarnes) – A Los Angeles business owner says he was fined by city officials for flying an American flag outside of his shop.

Arik Air, the owner of Motostyles, told Fox News he’s not only been fined for flying Old Glory, but he’s also been cited for putting a foldable sign outside of his motorcycle and hobby store.

“The guy called them ‘flag banners,’ and I said, ‘This is not a banner. This is the American flag.’ And, you know, we got a ticket for those in the past. And it was $461,” he said.

But what’s really been frustrating is the city’s outrage over a foldable sign he placed on the sidewalk outside his shop.

“I’m kind of pissed off because it’s an ongoing battle with them for kind of forever,” Air told Ainsley Earhardt on Fox & Friends. “They keep changing the inspectors and actually to justify their work, they come and give you a ticket for something.”

Meanwhile, homeless people have literally set up camp on sidewalks near his shop. Instead of cracking down on the illegal encampments, they accused Mr. Air’s sign of obstructing the sidewalk.

“They never care. They can get to my shop the same day in a couple of minutes, but they cannot go and actually deal with something else down the street,” he told Fox.

Mr. Air says he’s so frustrated that he’s considering moving his business to North Carolina.

Breaking: Lauren Boebert Reveals Stunning Biden Drug Scandal

(SNews) – Following a Secret Service briefing on Thursday, Republican Representative Lauren Boebert announced that cocaine discovered at the White House on July 2 was not the first time drugs were found at Biden’s White House.

Boebert said: “There’s a list of more than 500 individuals that they looked into their backgrounds for prior drug records or use, and nothing was determined from their analysis.

Just In: Trump Makes Big Decision About GOP Debates

(CBrief) – One of Donald Trump’s top advisers has provided an update regarding the 45th president’s participation in the upcoming 2024 Republican primary debates.

In a Tuesday interview with The Hill on NewsNation, Jason Miller, said, “At the moment, President Trump has indicated that he’s unlikely to participate, at least in the first two debates. It really wouldn’t make much sense for him to go and debate right now with a bunch of folks who are down at three, four, and five percent.”

“So ultimately, President Trump will make a decision as we get closer,” he concluded. “He has not said anything definitive, one way or the other. I’m not expecting him to participate, though.”

Trump’s closest competitor for the nomination is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, but he’s trailing by double digits, according to most polls. The rest of the GOP field all polls in single digits.

Still, DeSantis said last week he plans to be at the debates regardless of who else does or does not show up.

“I’ll be there regardless. I hope everybody who’s eligible comes. I think it’s an important part of the process and I look forward to being able to be on the stage and introducing our candidacy and our vision and our leadership to a wide audience,” DeSantis said Thursday on “Fox News Tonight.”

The scheduled date for the first GOP debate is Aug. 23. Fox News is hosting it in Milwaukee, Wis.

Fox News noted:

Trump, who’s the commanding front-runner in the latest GOP presidential primary polls as he makes his third straight White House run, has indicated both publicly and privately that he may skip the debate, due in part to his large lead over the rest of the field of Republican 2024 contenders.

But Trump campaign officials say the former president has yet to make any final decision on his participation in the debate. Trump’s aides have also been looking into options for an alternative event should the former president skip the debate.

The Republican National Committee is organizing all of the debates. The RNC has implemented certain criteria for candidates to qualify for the stage, including meeting both high donor thresholds and polling thresholds.

Officials from both the Trump and DeSantis camps, as well as the presidential campaigns of former ambassador and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, have stated that they have successfully met the required thresholds.

Trump’s suggestion that he may skip at least the first debate did not sit well with other Republican contenders, including former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who lashed out at the former president over the issue last month.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, host Brian Kilmeade brought in Christie, who was beamed in from a diner in New Hampshire and saw a clip from Trump’s recent interview with Bret Baier. Trump told Baier in the interview that he didn’t feel the need to participate in the primary debates because his poll numbers were so far ahead of the other Republican candidates.

Trump said, “Christie is, I guess, 1% or less. Many of them, Nikki Haley’s is a 2%. So why would I allow people at one and 2% and 0% to be hitting me with questions on? You know, I don’t think it’s fair.”

Kilmeade asked Christie to respond.

“Oh, it’s not fair, Brian. It’s not fair.” Christie taunted the former president, “poor Donald Trump,” likely knowing full well that the former president was more than likely watching Fox & Friends while he was speaking.

Christie then mocked Trump as “the guy who wants to be president of the United States, the guy who says that he’s the toughest person to lead this country, doesn’t want to get up in front of Republican primary voters and defend his record and make a case for the future of America.”

Shock Report: Manson Family Killer Freed From Prison

(SNews) – Leslie Van Houten, who was convicted in two killings as a follower of Charles Manson, was released on parole Tuesday, according to officials.

Houten, 73, spent more than five decades in prison. “The original conviction and death sentence were reversed on appeal and she was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole,” the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said.

“She will have a three-year maximum parole term with a parole discharge review occurring after one year,”

Van Houten was 19 when she participated in the Aug. 10, 1969, murders of Leno LaBianca, a wealthy grocer, and his wife, Rosemary LaBianca, at their Los Angeles home.

According to KTLA5:

Van Houten, now in her 70s, received a life sentence for helping Manson’s followers carry out the August 1969 killings of Leno LaBianca, a grocer in Los Angeles, and his wife, Rosemary.

Van Houten was found suitable for parole after a July 2020 hearing, but her release was blocked by Newsom, who maintained she was still a threat to society.

She filed an appeal with a trial court, which rejected it. She then turned to the appellate courts.

The appellate court’s ruling in May reversed an earlier decision by Newsom, who rejected parole for Van Houten in 2020.

(CBrief) – Outkick podcast host Tomi Lahren held Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ feet to the fire in an interview posted on Friday, during which she pressed him about why he decided to run for president during this cycle instead of waiting until 2028 after former President Donald Trump announced his third bid.

Trump has been leading the ever-widening field of GOP hopefuls, but the popular Florida governor has maintained a solid hold on second place, albeit far behind the 45th president.

But DeSantis, who won his 2022 election by a whopping 20 points, explained that he believes he has what it takes to lead the country and wants the opportunity to do so.

In the interview, Lahren asked the GOP governor to respond to supporters of Trump who also like him but believe he should wait his “turn” in 2028.

“First of all, in America, we don’t have ‘turns,’” DeSantis responded. “People can run if they believe they have something to offer the country. I can tell you as somebody that’s worn the country’s uniform, who served in Iraq, who believes in a cause greater than myself, I believe 2024 is make or break.”

“I don’t think we have time for excuses. We’re not going to get a mulligan on this one,” he said, using a golf term that allows players a do-over shot without taking a penalty.

“I think I’ve shown the ability to defeat the Democrats – yes, at the ballot box by winning Florida by a historic margin, but also on issue after issue,” he said, going on to list those victories.

“We beat ’em on lockdowns. We beat ’em on education. We beat ’em on ESG. We beat ’em on illegal immigrants. We beat ’em on transgender athletes competing with women,” said the governor.

“On issue after issue, we didn’t just talk the talk, we walked the walk, and so I’ll run. I’ll beat Biden, but even more importantly than that, I will deliver on all these things because if we don’t actually deliver, then I think we’re going to be in a hole that’s going to be very difficult to dig out from,” he continued.

“So, I think I’m the guy that can get all of that done, and I think I have a responsibility to offer myself, and that’s where I’m coming from,” he said.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls, Trump is leading DeSantis by about 47 percent to 24 percent. No other GOP candidate polls in double digits, The Western Journal reports.

Meanwhile, Trump received a heartfelt welcome during a campaign stop in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Friday, where he also extended some of his characteristic generosity.

During his speech, Trump mentioned his legal problems. “Every time I get a subpoena, you know, my polls go up, I get more and more subpoenas,” he said, according to The Western Journal.

He was well received after the speech in the city as well, where he went to a local Dairy Queen and treated all the patrons. Chants of “We love Trump!” and “USA!” were heard as he entered the establishment.

When he got to the counter, Trump began chatting with the workers there, saying at one point, “Everybody wants a Blizzard. What the hell is a Blizzard?”

After asking the counter workers to “take care of” the people in the restaurant, Trump then began handing out ice cream to patrons.

One woman was heard saying, “We want you back, Trump.”

The former president also commented on a shirt a man was wearing. “Look at that — 45, 47,” he said of the shirt, which obviously referenced him as being the 45th president and possibly the 47th.

Trump also made a surprise stop at a pizzeria in Fort Myers, Fla., in April and bought a round of food for the patrons there.

Outrage: Supermarket Fires Staffer Who Filmed Shoplifters

(TStarnes) – A Colorado grocery store worker is unemployed because he did the right thing.

Santino Burrola, a military veteran, was working at King Soopers when he noticed three men running away from the store with hundreds of dollars worth of laundry detergent.

Mr. Burrola captured the entire incident on video.

“My first instinct was to record,” he told CBS Colorado.

Burrola followed the men outside to their car and posted the footage on TikTok.

“Look at them stealing,” he says off-camera. “Really bro? You gotta resort to this? Economy’s not that bad.”

Mr. Burrola should’ve been given a pay raise and a certificate of appreciation. Instead, he was suspended and subsequently fired.

NewsNation reports that five staffers at another King Soopers were fired after they restrained a man who was robbing the store armed with a box cutter. The staffers held the man down until police arrived.

“It’s hit my family hard financially, emotionally,” one of the employees, Julie Olivett, said to NewsNation local affiliate KDVR. “I’ve lost my health insurance. I lost all my benefits for something that’s just unfair because I did nothing wrong. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

King Soopers declined to comment on the specifics of Mr. Burrola’s ouster.

“We appreciate that in this instance, their actions may have been well intended,” King Soopers said in a statement. “However, they violated the very policies that are in place for everyone’s safety. Nothing in our stores is worth sacrificing that core value and their safe return home.”

Breaking: Facebook’s New Twitter Rival Starts Censoring Conservatives

(SNews) – “Threads,” the new Twitter rival launched by Facebook’s parent company Meta, is already censoring conservatives, according to reports.

The new app launched Thursday in an effort to compete with Elon Musk’s Twitter.

Threads is an almost identical copy of Twitter that connects with Meta’s other social media app Instagram.

In an obvious effort to boost user numbers, Threads allows Instagram users to copy their followers over to the new text-based platform.

However, certain users of Threads quickly realized something suspicious – the new platform launched with the censorship of conservatives apparently pre-programmed into it.

Conservatives who are popular on other social media platforms have warning labels attached to their Threads accounts, even if they’ve never posted on the new platform before.

It appears as though censorship tools and other suppression flags from Facebook and Instagram have been transferred to Threads.

Conservative censorship is apparently built into Threads, which is why you need an Instagram account to log into it.

And as other others noticed, to close your Threads account, you must delete your Instagram account, leaving users feeling “trapped” on the new platform.

As News Addicts notes, Meta claims that over 10 million people have registered for its new social media platform.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg characterizes Threads as a “friendly” alternative to Musk’s Twitter.

“Let’s do this. Welcome to Threads,” Zuckerberg announced in his inaugural post on the platform.

He described the platform as a “text-based conversation app.”

Users are permitted to publish posts with a maximum of 500 characters.

They can also photos, and videos, and, unlike Instagram, share links.

The new service, which is being introduced in more than 100 countries for iOS and Android, is positioned as a direct competitor to Twitter.

However, it doesn’t have a website version of the platform like Twitter.

“Our ambition is to maintain its friendliness as it grows. I believe it’s feasible and will be a crucial factor in its success,” Zuckerberg posted on Wednesday, presenting the service as a healthier alternative to Twitter. “Twitter’s relative lack of success, in my view, stems from this issue and we intend to approach it differently.”

However, issues around data privacy and censorship have arisen. Former Twitter owner, Jack Dorsey, underscored the substantial amount of data that Threads collects. Journalist Michael Shellenberger also expressed his concerns:

According to Shellenberger, Threads began covert censorship of users within hours of its launch, without providing a right of appeal.

Threads issued a cautionary warning upon accessing Utley and O’Hanley’s profiles, ‘Are you sure you want to follow…? This account has repeatedly posted false information.’ –

Rogan O’Handley, a lawyer and vocal Trump supporter, immediately was ‘unpersoned’ by the Twitter imitator.

The Twitter user Derek Utley also ran afoul of the censors right away.

According to reports, Threads is already censoring legitimate political debate as well.

Meta already wields enormous power, controlling the content much of the public can access, Shellenberger adds in his “Public” Substack post.

He points out that should Threads succeed, it will command 80% of the global market outside of Russia and China, according to industry insiders.

It’s therefore plausible that Meta will impose censorship in line with the desires of large news media corporations like the New York Times and corporate advertisers.

This increased censorship is exactly what mainstream news media, big corporations, and their celebrity representatives have been calling for, he adds.

Unlike Twitter, Threads gathers data about “Health & Fitness,” “Financial Info,” “Sensitive Info,” and “Other Data” from users.

It has already ed to Threads being called out as a vast “data-mining” enterprise.

Prominent figures such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) have joined the new platform.

Ultimately, these high-profile users, such as Democrat politicians and mainstream media journalists, may be willing to tolerate bugs in the Threads software if that means a “safe space” to share their ideological views without being challenged by independent and conservative voices, who are apparently being silenced.

However, other social platforms seeking to rival Twitter, such as President Donald Trump’s Truth Social, Jack Dorsey’s Bluesky, and Mastodon, have failed to attract a sufficiently large user base to break into the mainstream.

Elon Musk did choose to buy Twitter rather than create a rival for a reason, after all.

Alert: Shock Kamala Harris Rumors Sweep Through Washington

(CBrief) – Some sources claim that a rising number of Democrats are advocating for President Joe Biden’s re-election because they feel more comfortable with the thought that Vice President Kamala Harris could assume the role of commander-in-chief and handle her duties.

A recent Suffolk University/USA Today poll found that a whopping 86 percent of Democrat Biden voters expressed either a high or moderate level of comfort with the prospect of Harris assuming the presidency in the event that both Biden and Harris are re-elected for another four years and Biden is unable to complete his term.

According to insiders who spoke to Fox News Digital, the possibility of Harris ascending to the presidency is considered a highly plausible scenario, which could potentially send a significant political ripple across the nation and would undoubtedly affect all Americans.

“The DNC’s strategy to ensure the Democrat establishment remains in power is to re-elect Joe Biden, no matter how old or capable he is, and then get him to resign or step aside and install Kamala Harris as president,” said former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, an Independent who ran for president in 2020 as a Democrat.

“She will be untested and unelected and ready to act as the Democrat Establishment’s puppet president. She will then have the advantage and power of incumbency to run in 2028,” she told the outlet.

“None of this is possible if Biden doesn’t run. If Kamala were to try to run for president herself, there would be heavy competition and no way she would win. This is why they are uniting around Joe Biden’s re-election – to ensure Kamala Harris is able to assume the throne unchallenged,” Gabbard noted further.

She said Harris “is clearly not qualified to serve as commander in chief” and that it would be “disastrous and dangerous” for the country if she were to become its first female president.

“This should be a major issue for voters, but the mainstream media will continue to try to cover for her because they don’t want the American people to know the truth: a President Kamala Harris would be disastrous and dangerous for all Americans and our country,” she said.

Doug Schoen, a Democratic pollster who is also a founder and partner of Schoen Cooperman Research, similarly agrees that Harris isn’t ready for prime time and pointed to her regularly dismal approval ratings.

“Democrats may be happy with Kamala Harris taking over, but the rest of the electorate almost certainly is not,” Schoen said. “Harris has lower approval ratings than Biden, and remains very much an open question to the electorate whether she is ready and indeed able to govern.”

Leo Terrell, a civil rights lawyer and a contributor to Fox News, believes that Democrats will try to sell the country on a “Biden-Harris” package for 2024.

“They have no choice. Democrats would alienate their most loyal constituency, black females, if they do not sell Harris as a viable replacement for President Biden. This is the problem Democrats will face because they play identity politics. When you select a candidate based on skin color or ethnicity in lieu of competence, you end up with a Kamala Harris. Moreover, the Democratic donor base has demanded that Harris be presented as a competent replacement,” he said.

“There is no way in hell the American public believe that Kamala Harris is qualified to replace Joe Biden, or to serve a single second as president of the United States of America,” he said.

Marc Lotter, a former special assistant to President Trump who is the chief communications officer for the America First Policy Institute, said Harris’ low polling numbers don’t “surprise” him.

“Make no mistake, Harris will certainly be an anchor on the Democrat ticket, given her horrible approval ratings and history of being a very poor candidate,” he told the network.

“Democrats are campaigning for Biden with the ultimate hope that Biden will continue to be healthy and last through the four years,” added Hank Sheinkopf, a former Democratic consultant for the Clinton-Gore Campaign.
