(CBrief) – The chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee has revealed that investigators have identified a complex web of at least twelve bank accounts that were utilized to transfer money from foreign sources to Joe Biden’s family.

This marks the first time that evidence has been uncovered indicating that some of the funds were intended to benefit the future president, Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) noted, as reported by Just the News.

“It’s getting very close to Joe Biden,” Comer told the outlet.

During an interview on the “Just the News, No Noise” television show on Wednesday, Comer disclosed that his investigators had gained access to Suspicious Activity Reports filed by banks with the Treasury Department regarding the Biden family’s overseas business transactions. According to Comer, whistleblowers have provided testimony to augment the financial records dating back years.

Comer added that new evidence reveals that several members of the Biden family were involved in receiving or forwarding foreign money. The evidence shows that some of the money came from places other than the widely reported sources in China, Russia, and Ukraine and that the United Arab Emirates is a new area of investigative interest, he noted further, according to the outlet.

“The Middle East, that’s very underreported, especially with Jim Biden, the president’s brother,” Comer said. “He had a lot of deals in the Middle East. We know about a lot of these deals because a lot of them are in federal bankruptcy court right now.

“And that’s the other story here: I don’t know if any of these business deals ever lasted. I mean, they were all scams and schemes and failures. So why would people continue to send this family massive amounts of money? Because they don’t have any expertise,” the Kentucky Republican continued.

“Were they getting something in return? If so, then Joe Biden would be the primary suspect because I don’t think that Hunter Biden or Jim Biden, or any of the family members of the Biden family, can actually do something on behalf of the government. But Joe Biden could, and that’s why we’re investigating this,” he told the show.

He further noted that investigators have identified “over a dozen accounts, at least, and maybe many more” through which foreign money flowed to the family, and the committee is now in the process of subpoenaing the records directly from the banks. Money flowed to several family members, including one who has escaped any public notice, he said, declining to be more specific.

“We identified a very new Biden family member that I honestly never would have even suspected would have been a recipient of a big paycheck from an account that was funded through two individuals closely aligned with the Chinese Communist Party,” Comer said. “So I think you’re gonna find that there are many Biden family members that were involved in the schemes.”

“It doesn’t make sense for this family to receive these massive amounts of money from our adversaries,” he added. “They’re not dealing with Canada. They’re not dealing with the Europeans, you know, the normal European Union countries. They’re dealing with countries like Russia and China and the United Arab Emirates. I mean, it’s bizarre some of the countries that are doing business with the Bidens.”

First sone Hunter Biden, meanwhile, has faced a federal investigation regarding his tax affairs for months, and possibly years. Although his lawyers remain confident that he will be found innocent of any wrongdoing, Hunter Biden recently paid $2 million in overdue taxes.

Joe Biden has repeatedly denied any involvement in his son’s business dealings or gained any benefits from them, maintaining that the investigations are purely politically motivated. However, White House officials have recently stated that it is possible that the President met with some of his son’s foreign business partners, including those from China and Ukraine.

Comer added that whistleblowers have also provided information to supplement the financial records his investigators have obtained.

He also claimed that some of the funds went to benefit Joe Biden directly, not just his son or other family members and that the future president met with some of the foreign players during his last year as Barack Obama’s vice president.

Graham made the call after a Russian fighter jet collided with a U.S. drone on Tuesday.

The Russian-provoked incident led to the destruction of a U.S. military drone over international waters, as Slay News reported.

Two Russian fighter jets were harassing a $32 million unmanned MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Black Sea, the U.S. European Command said.

One of the fighter jets clipped the propeller of the drone, forcing the U.S. to down the drone in the body of water.

“They shot down our drone,” Fox News host Sean Hannity said to Graham during an interview Tuesday night.

“What should our answer be?”

“Well, we should hold them accountable and say that, ‘If you ever get near another U.S. asset flying in international waters, your airplane will be shot down,’” Graham responded.

As Slay News reported, Meta Platforms Inc. is reportedly planning to launch a new app to rival the mounting threat from Musk’s growing free speech-focused Twitter.

Since Musk’s takeover of Twitter in late October, the platform has been booming with new and returning users who are drawn to the new boss’s free speech agenda.

Musk has long stated that he wants to eradicate censorship and make Twitter the world’s “digital town square” where all views are welcome.

Facebook, on the other hand, has continued to ramp up censorship efforts in recent years and has seen a mass exodus of users.

Amid Musk’s growing success with Twitter, Meta now wants to build a new app to rival it.

“We’re exploring a standalone decentralized social network for sharing text updates,” a Meta spokesperson told Reuters in an emailed statement.

“We believe there’s an opportunity for a separate space where creators and public figures can share timely updates about their interests.”

As stock market volatility continues to roil IRAs and 401ks, companies are scrambling to figure out creative ways to make, save, or in many cases simply not lose more money.

After the pandemic, world governments flushed the system with cash, inadvertently creating a ripple effect that arguably created an inflationary environment for most national economies.

Under Musk’s leadership, Twitter has been soaring and other Big Tech companies are taking notice.

Some rumblings among the tech world recently signaled that Zuckerberg thought Musk’s new free speech approach might just work.

Reports even emerged that Meta plans to copy Musk’s Twitter Blue subscription service and offer a paid version of Facebook.

Recently, Zuckerberg’s Meta indicated they may take their admiration for Musk’s approach another step further, by trying to create a rival to Twitter.

Of course, it’s a very long way off before anyone will know if that will be successful.

(CBrief) – Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has predicted an “economic meltdown” within hours of the banks opening on Monday morning after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. Ackman is urging President Joe Biden and his administration to intervene and safeguard all of the bank’s depositors, warning that failure to act could result in a ripple effect across other smaller banks in the industry.

His concern is that customers may hastily withdraw cash from their accounts due to apprehension about instability in the banking system, which could potentially trigger a domino effect, the Daily Mail reported.

Ackman is calling on the government to take action and rectify “a-soon-to-be-irreversible mistake” by Monday morning to avert potential catastrophe, the report said. His somber forecast came after SVB Financial Group’s CEO, Greg Becker, released a video message to the bank’s staff acknowledging the “incredibly difficult” 48 hours that led to its collapse on Friday.

Ackman released a lengthy statement on Twitter outlining his concerns that, until Biden acts, there will be a financial upheaval the likes of which haven’t been seen since the “Great Depression,” circa 2008, and the loss of tens of thousands of jobs:

The gov’t has about 48 hours to fix a-soon-to-be-irreversible mistake. By allowing @SVB_Financial to fail without protecting all depositors, the world has woken up to what an uninsured deposit is — an unsecured illiquid claim on a failed bank. Absent @jpmorgan @citi or @BankofAmerica acquiring SVB before the open on Monday, a prospect I believe to be unlikely, or the gov’t guaranteeing all of SVB’s deposits, the giant sucking sound you will hear will be the withdrawal of substantially all uninsured deposits from all but the ‘systemically important banks’ (SIBs).

These funds will be transferred to the SIBs, US Treasury (UST) money market funds and short-term UST. There is already pressure to transfer cash to short-term UST and UST money market accounts due to the substantially higher yields available on risk-free UST vs. bank deposits. These withdrawals will drain liquidity from community, regional and other banks and begin the destruction of these important institutions. The increased demand for short-term UST will drive short rates lower complicating the @federalreserve’s efforts to raise rates to slow the economy.

Already thousands of the fastest growing, most innovative venture-backed companies in the U.S. will begin to fail to make payroll next week. Had the gov’t stepped in on Friday to guarantee SVB’s deposits (in exchange for penny warrants which would have wiped out the substantial majority of its equity value) this could have been avoided and SVB’s 40-year franchise value could have been preserved and transferred to a new owner in exchange for an equity injection. We would have been open to participating.

This approach would have minimized the risk of any gov’t losses, and created the potential for substantial profits from the rescue. Instead, I think it is now unlikely any buyer will emerge to acquire the failed bank. The gov’t’s approach has guaranteed that more risk will be concentrated in the SIBs at the expense of other banks, which itself creates more systemic risk. For those who make the case that depositors be damned as it would create moral hazard to save them, consider the feasibility of a world where each depositor must do their own credit assessment of the bank they choose to bank with. I am a pretty sophisticated financial analyst and I find most banks to be a black box despite the 1,000s of pages of @SECGov filings available on each bank.

Ackman went on to note that allowing SVB to collapse without safeguarding all depositors sends a message that uninsured deposits are unsecured and illiquid claims on a failed bank. Currently, for FDIC-insured banks, only accounts with $250,000 or less are guaranteed by the government.

That said, SVB’s most recent annual report revealed that 96 percent of its $173 billion in total deposits were uninsured, which raises significant concerns about the fate of the bank’s corporate clients with large accounts, the Daily Mail noted.

Ackman added: “From a source I trust: @SVB_Financial depositors will get ~50% on Mon/Tues and the balance based on realized value over the next 3-6 months. If this proves true, I expect there will be bank runs beginning Monday am at a large number of non-SIB banks. As Slay News reported Monday, First Lady Jill Biden shot down concerns about her husband’s mental competency as “ridiculous.”

She was responding to presidential hopeful Nikki Haley calling for such tests to be administered to political candidates above the age of 75.

“Doctor” Jill appeared to be confused as to the difference between questions over Biden’s physical and mental health.

She asserted that his ability to travel internationally proves he is mentally competent.
