BREAKING: GOP Just CRUSHED The Dems’ Last Hope

(SNews) – The GOP-led House of Representatives has voted to rescind billions of dollars in funding for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that was approved in the Democrats’ so-called “Inflation Reduction Act.”

Lawmakers voted to rescind more than $70 billion in funding to the IRS on Monday night, in the first significant move under Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) leadership.

The Democrats controversial legislation approved funding to hire an additional 87,000 IRS agents, most of which would target everyday Americans.

The move fulfills McCarthy’s promise to prevent the agency from hiring tens of thousands of new agents and conducting new audits on Americans.

The bill is dubbed the “Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act” and is sponsored by Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE) and Rep. Michelle Steel (R-CA).

The bill passed the House of Representatives in a 221-210 vote.

The legislation will roll back the billions of dollars of funding for the IRS approved in the Inflation Reduction Act last year.

However, it leaves in place funding for customer service and improvements to IT services.

The bill rescinds any funding that could be used to conduct new audits on Americans and funding that would double the agency’s current size.

The Inflation Reduction Act granted an $80 billion boost to the IRS over a 10-year period.

More than half of those funds were approved with the intention of helping the agency to crack down on tax evasion.

The funding would have gone toward filling 87,000 IRS positions.

“The last thing the American people need right now are more audits from an out-of-control, bloated IRS,” Smith said on Monday ahead of the vote.

“The Inflation Act funding for IRS would lead to the hiring of 87,000 new IRS employees tasked with raising enough revenue to pay for Democrats’ Green New Deal priorities.”

Smith called it “unacceptable.”

“Our bill leaves in place funding for customer service and IT improvements because IRS is in desperate need of reform, but it protects middle-class families from audits they cannot afford,” Smith said.

The Congressional Budget Office released a score Monday for the bill.

The agency said that, on net, it would increase the debt by $114 billion over a decade, which Democrats brought up during debate before the vote.

“Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration have made clear that up to 90% of their new audits will target middle-class families and small businesses,” said a spokesperson for Smith’s office regarding the CBO score.

“This score again demonstrates the extent to which they are plundering working-class Americans in order to hand billions of dollars out to profitable businesses to buy electric trucks for their fleets, fuel for their airplanes, and install large-scale wind and solar across America’s landscapes.”

The vote came just days after McCarthy secured the House speakership — after an intense 15-round vote battle.

Just days before the midterm elections, McCarthy vowed that, if he became speaker of the House, protecting Americans from the IRS would be his first order of business.

“On the very first day, we’ll repeal the 87,000 new IRS agents because we think the government should be there to help you, not to go after you,” McCarthy said.

The music star noted that, if it is hurting her, it must be crushing “middle-class people or people in the hood.”

She said: “Let me tell you something.

WOW: Federal Court BLOCKS Jen Psaki From Testifying

(CBrief) – Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki was ordered in September to provide testimony, along with Dr. Anthony Fauci and current White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, in a case regarding alleged censorship of users by big tech platforms.

However, on Friday, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans blocked an attempt by GOP attorneys general to depose her in a lawsuit filed against the Biden administration that alleges collusion with big tech to censor and ban certain users.

First filed by then-Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, who is now a U.S. senator, as well as Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry in May, the suit claimed that administration officials coerced or colluded with social media platforms to “suppress disfavored speakers, viewpoints, and content” with “dis-information,” “mis-information,” and “mal-information” labels.

U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana denied Psaki’s request to dismiss her subpoena to testify, but the three-judge appeals panel ruled that the lower court judge failed to sufficiently consider established legal principles that limit current or former Executive Branch officials’ depositions to essential circumstances, Politico reported, adding:

The attorneys general and several private individuals have argued that Psaki’s statements about encouraging social media firms to take down misinformation about the coronavirus and about election fraud are grounds to subject her to questioning, but the appeals judges sharply disagreed. The 5th Circuit panel also suggested that in the absence of evidence that Psaki herself was interacting with the social media firms or dictating policy, there was little reason to demand her testimony.

“The plaintiffs argue that a deposition is required in order to, among other things, illuminate the meaning of these statements. Much of this desired illumination, though, is apparent from the record,” Judges Edith Clement, Leslie Southwick and Stephen Higginson wrote in their joint order. “In a similar vein, the plaintiffs say they need to uncover the identities of government officials and social media platforms mentioned in Psaki’s statements. The record is already replete with such information.

“As Press Secretary, Psaki’s role was to inform the media of the administration’s priorities, not to develop or execute policy,” the appeals judges noted further. “Unsurprisingly, then, the record does not demonstrate that Psaki has unique first-hand knowledge that would justify the extraordinary measure of deposing a high-ranking executive official.”

WATCH: GOP Rep Forcibly Held Back After LUNGING at Matt Gaetz

A visibly angry and frustrated Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) had to be physically restrained after lunging at Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) on the House floor by other members late Friday as the drama to elect a new speaker continued to play out.

Cameras caught the moment that the GOP lawmaker lost his cool and moved quickly towards Gaetz, who continued refusing to back Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for the speakership after a historic 14th ballot. It would take another — 15 ballots — for McCarthy to finally win the post after the House reconvened at 10 p.m. Friday night.

Fox News reported:

Gaetz was discussing with Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., the possibility of backing him in the next vote and appeared to mouth the word “committee.”

Gaetz is currently on the House Armed Services Committee, which is chaired by Rogers. McCarthy appeared to agree and returned to his seat. Rogers, having witnessed the interaction, then walked up to Gaetz’s row and made a move toward him.

Rep. Richard Hudson, R-N.C., intervened and physically restrained Rogers, pulling him back by his shoulders in full view of C-SPAN’s cameras.

At one point, Rogers pointed at Gaetz and appeared to yell, “I won’t forget this!”

“Our investigation has determined that the cause of the crash was driving left of center with a contributing factor of excessive speed,” said a sheriff’s office press release. “The at-fault vehicle was the Toyota RAV4 driven by Zachery Potts.”

VIDEO: Dan Crenshaw Calls Conservatives Terrorists

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) said on Fox News Radio that the 20 House Republicans who refuse to vote for Kevin McCarthy are terrorists.

“We cannot let the terrorists win,” Crenshaw told host Guy Benson.

Benson did not push back or ask the Republican congressman to explain why he likened his conservative colleagues to people who literally kill the innocent and blow up buildings.

“Yeah, I see that there,” Benson said in response.

Crenshaw also accused the lawmakers — including Scott Perry, Chip Roy and Matt Gaetz of being paid by Democrats to cause upheaval in the House.

Following, is a partial transcript of the disgraceful interview:

Guy Benson: And so let me ask you this.

Crenshaw: It’s almost like, they’re being paid by Democrats to force us into a deal with Democrats. Like I don’t know what else to think at this point.

Guy Benson: One name that gets tossed around is Steve Scalise, whose well-liked member of leadership. It’s like, oh, well, you know what? If you gave him a shot instead of McCarthy, first of all, McCarthy would have to step aside for that to happen. Second of all, if it were Scalise, would any of this dynamic change at all? I don’t know.

VIDEO: GOP Congresswoman Exposes Liberal Reporter’s AWFUL Actions

(SNews) – Florida GOP Congresswoman-elect Anna Paulina Luna says she was “sexually harassed” while leaving her office in the U.S. Capitol Tuesday evening by a reporter for The Daily Beast.

Luna is one of the 20 Republicans to vote against electing Kevin McCarthy speaker. She said: “When you’re a woman who stands up to the swamp, you are sexually harassed leaving your office, accused of having sex with members, being a witch, and more lies.”

Luna posted a video that showed Petrizzo peppering her with questions and following her closely. At one point she asked security to walk her to her car to get away from the reporter but was denied.

“This is why we must drain the swamp,” she added. “This is not journalism. Is this how female reps are treated?”

The congresswoman-elect is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Earlier she denied the allegations Petrizzo hurled her way. She stayed calm and maintained her composure showing she will be a force in the new Congress.

According to Fox News:

In the video, Petrizzo, referring to comments made by one of Luna’s would-be rivals in her congressional race, asks Luna if she is “a witch.”

Petrizzo’s questions stemmed from a letter obtained by the outlet that was reportedly sent by the law firm Holland & Knight at the direction of Luna after Matt Tito, who reportedly considered a primary challenge to Luna, made a series of allegations against her during an appearance on a radio show.

The video also showed Petrizzo asking Luna whether she had “some sort of relationship with a representative” and if she would like to offer a comment.
