BREAKING: Elon Musk Locks Twitter Staff Out of Censorship Tools

(SNews) – Twitter’s new owner and CEO Elon Musk has locked employees out of the platform’s internal censorship tools ahead of the looming midterm elections.

Musk has reportedly cut the number of staff who can access Twitter’s “content moderation” tools from hundreds to around 15 people.

According to Bloomberg, Musk and his “war cabinet” took the action to reduce the ability of Twitter’s employees to influence discussion on the platform.

The move has limited access to internal tools used for content moderation and the enforcement of other policies to just a handful of Musk’s trusted associates and Tesla engineers.

Musk is seeking to neuter staff’s abilities to “alter or penalize accounts that break rules around misleading information, offensive posts and hate speech,” according to the report.

Employees will now no longer have the ability to banish highly credentialed doctors and researchers for posting divergent COVID-19 narratives.

All but the most “high-impact violations set for manual review” will remain on the platform, according to people familiar with the matter.

Twitter staff use dashboards, known as agent tools, to carry out actions like banning or suspending an account that is deemed to have breached policies, according to Bloomberg.

“Detection of policy breaches can either be flagged by other Twitter users or detected automatically, but taking action on them requires human input and access to the dashboard tools,” the report explains.

“Those tools have been suspended since last week, the people said.

“This restriction is part of a broader plan to freeze Twitter’s software code to keep employees from pushing changes to the app during the transition to new ownership.

“Typically this level of access is given to a group of people numbering in the hundreds, and that was initially reduced to about 15 people last week, according to two of the people, who asked not to be named discussing internal decisions.”

On Sunday, Twitter employees had limited access to the internal tools to police Brazil’s presidential election.

Meanwhile, the company is still using automated enforcement technology as well as third-party contractors.

The restricted ability to restrict free speech has given Twitter’s Trust and Safety Team the vapors.

Employees are now worried that the company will be short-handed during the run-up to the November 8 midterm election day.

The Trust and Safety Team was headed by now-fired “censorship chief” Vijaya Gadde.

Internally, employees say, Musk has raised questions about a number of the policies, and has zeroed in on a few specific rules that he wants the team to review.

The first is Twitter’s general misinformation policy, which penalizes posts that include falsehoods about topics like election outcomes and Covid-19.

Musk wants the policy to be more specific, according to people familiar with the matter.

Musk has also asked the team to review Twitter’s hateful conduct policy, according to the people, specifically a section that says users can be penalized for “targeted misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals.”

On Monday, Yoel Roth, Twitter’s head of safety and integrity, tweeted that the company was addressing an increase in offensive posts.

Since Musk took over the company, Twitter has seen an increase in trolling bots that seek to flood the platform with offensive content.

“Since Saturday, we’ve been focused on addressing the surge in hateful conduct on Twitter,” Roth wrote.

“We’ve made measurable progress, removing more than 1500 accounts and reducing impressions on this content to nearly zero.

“We’re primarily dealing with a focused, short-term trolling campaign.”

(CBrief) – Police revealed on Monday that the man accused of breaking into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s California home and assaulting her husband, Paul Pelosi, had a list of other people to target. David DePape allegedly broke into Pelosi’s home on Friday and attacked Paul Pelosi. Police now say they recovered a list belonging to DePape of other potential targets.

“The existence of the list has previously been reported, though police have yet to release any names on the list. Police responded to the home at 2 a.m. on Friday to find DePape and Pelosi struggling over a hammer. Pelosi was reportedly able to call the police by saying he needed to go to the bathroom,” Fox News reported.

“DePape, a conspiracy theorist who frequently posted online, has been ‘mentally ill for a long time,’ according to his purported ex-life partner, Oxane Taub. Taub, herself a jailed nudist activist convicted on child abduction charges, claimed in an interview with ABC7 to have raised two sons with DePape, along with her daughter from a previous relationship. Taub went on to detail one incident when DePape reportedly came home after disappearing for almost a year out of the blue,” the outlet added.

“He came back in very bad shape. He thought he was Jesus. He was constantly paranoid, thinking people were after him. And it took a good year or two to get back to, you know, being halfway normal,” Taub said.

DePape faces charges of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary, and other felonies following the incident.

Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy revealed over the weekend that Congress could pursue more protection for lawmakers and their families.

“This is what we were talking about, right: What’s going to happen when we get back? Are we going to be in a discussion about a higher security presence for members of the Senate?” Murphy said.

And since “there’s always threats against Nancy Pelosi,” it may be a good idea to have security for her family members around the clock, said Murphy.

“My sense is there is still not an appetite to have full security details to every member of Congress,” Murphy said. “We continue to increase funding for security details so that anybody that has an active threat has security. And it may be that we should have a lower bar for what kind of threat would mandate at least a temporary full-time detail.”

“The reality is we lead incredibly public lives. We have schedules that are often determined on the fly. It’s hard for us to operate our lives like the president does with every movement scripted out. It’s part of the reason we chose to do this job rather than other jobs, so that we had some freedom of movement,” Murphy said.

“Capitol Police are conducting a full review of the incident at Pelosi’s home and its protective services division and sharing updates with lawmakers, according to a GOP aide. The department is considering any short- or long-term changes to the protocol that needs to be made,” Yahoo News reported.

There is currently great danger that social media will splinter into far right wing and far left wing echo chambers that generate more hate and divide our society,” he said.

But on Sunday he showed how things have changed when he trolled form Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after she tweeted about the attack on Paul Pelosi.

“The Republican Party and its mouthpieces now regularly spread hate and deranged conspiracy theories. It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions that follow,” she said.

Musk responded to her with a link to a website that shared a baseless conspiracy theory that Paul Pelosi got injured because he was drunk, which is provably not true, and that he met his attacker in a gay bar.

“There is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye,” the CEO said.

The evidence points to the attack on Paul Pelosi being a targeted political attack by David DePape, who believed and shared many conspiracy theories.

But Musk was not the only person to troll the tweet.

“You and your husband created this environment by relentlessly attacking your political opponents. You’re still doing it for God sakes. The Republican Party had nothing to do with this and you know it,” Buzz Patterson said.

BREAKING: FBI Tries To SEAL Key Evidence for DECADES

(Slay News) – The FBI has asked a federal court to seal the evidence the Bureau has from murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich’s laptop for 66 years, despite previously claiming that the information doesn’t exist.

As Slay News reported, the FBI has failed to hand over the evidence in violation of a court order.

In September, a U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Texas ordered the FBI to “produce the information it possesses related to Seth Rich’s laptop.”

Judge Amos L. Mazzant gave the FBI 14 days to surrender the evidence.

However, the deadline passed on October 13 and the FBI failed to surrender the evidence.

After the missed deadline, Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration asked for more time to respond to Judge Mazzant’s order.

The Bureau is also reportedly withholding three reports produced by CrowdStrike in 2016 regarding the alleged hack of the DNC servers.

Young Democratic Party aide Seth Rich’s murder has still left many questions unanswered.

He was shot in the back twice in the early morning of July 10, 2016, near his home in Washington D.C.

He died later in the hospital.

The police recorded the event as a robbery and yet Rich’s phone, wallet, and personal items were with him when the police arrived.

Police in Washington, D.C., never identified his killer, and there was a vacuum of reliable information.

Some people suspect Rich was the source of Hillary Clinton and her campaign manager John Podesta’s emails which were obtained by WikiLeaks before the 2016 Election.

Rich was killed shortly after the emails were handed to WikiLeaks.

The FBI has long denied possessing any information or files related to the Seth Rich murder.

But that was not true and eventually, the information was discovered.

The FBI was forced to admit it is withholding information on Rich.

On Friday, Christopher Wray’s FBI asked for any information on the Seth Rich investigation to be sealed for 66 years.

The Epoch Times reported:

The FBI is asking a U.S. court to reverse its order that it produce information from Seth Rich’s laptop computer.

If the court does not, the bureau wants 66 years to produce the information.

Rich was a Democratic National Committee staffer when he was killed on a street in Washington in mid-2016.

No person has ever been arrested in connection to the murder.

U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant, an Obama appointee, ruled in September that the bureau must hand over information from the computer to Brian Huddleston, a Texas man who filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for the info.

The FBI’s assertion that the privacy interest Rich’s family members hold outweighed the public interest was rejected by Mazzant, who noted the bureau cited no relevant case law supporting the argument.

(Slay News) – A deputy sheriff has been arrested by federal agents in Philadelphia after the law enforcement official was caught on video selling two guns that were used in a school shooting.

The two guns were used in the deadly shooting after a football scrimmage at Roxborough High School.

Deputy Sheriff Samir Ahmad tried to cash in on the tragic shooting by selling the guns used in the attack.

Federal agents recorded Ahmad accepting $3,000 for the sale of these two, semi-automatic Glocks as well as ammunition, from a federal informant.

Ahmad was a deputy sheriff in the city of Philadelphia from 2018-2022.

“As alleged, Samir Ahmad abused his authority – to the greatest extent possible – as a sworn law enforcement officer,” said U.S. Attorney Romero.

“The defendant was allegedly sold firearms on the street, and for the sake of putting money in his pocket, was willing to put deadly firearms into the hands of someone he knew was prohibited by law from possessing them.

“Working with our law enforcement partners, we are doing all that we can to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the violence.”

“The idea of a sworn public servant so blatantly undermining public safety is reprehensible,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division.

“Philadelphia is awash in illegal guns, which are being used to commit violent crimes, so every weapon we can take off the street and every trafficker we can lock up makes a difference.

“The FBI and our partners will continue to do everything in our power to make this city safer.”

“The result of this investigation is the paradigm of collaboration between our local, state, and federal partners,” said Eric Degree, Acting Special Agent in charge of ATF’s Philadelphia Field Division.

“We cannot let the gun violence we are seeing become the norm.

“We will continue to use our expertise to identify, investigate, and incarcerate those who commit and those who facilitate the violent firearm crimes that plague our streets.”

DOJ issued a statement that said:

“United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced that Samir Ahmad, 29, of Philadelphia, PA, was charged by Criminal Complaint with firearms trafficking and selling firearms to a person unlawfully in the United States, arising from his sale of two semi-automatic pistols to a confidential informant while he was employed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office.

“According to the court documents, Ahmad was employed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office beginning in February 2018.

“In October 2022, when Ahmad was a sworn law enforcement officer as a Deputy Sheriff, he allegedly sold two semi-automatic pistols and ammunition to a confidential informant.

“During the exchange, the informant explained to Ahmad that he was unlawfully in the United States and that he could ‘get deported’ if he was caught in possession of a gun.

“As detailed in the Criminal Complaint, Ahmad responded, simply: ‘You don’t got to worry about none of that.’

“The defendant made $3,000 from the sale of the firearms.

“On October 19, 2022, Ahmad was terminated from employment with the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office and arrested by federal agents.

“The investigation is ongoing.

“If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 15 years in prison,” DOJ said.

“The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Department of Labor Office of the Inspector General, and the Philadelphia Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys J. Jeanette Kang and Justin T. Ashenfelter.”
