“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote in one post, attaching a video of Trump being whisked off stage following the attempt. In a subsequent post he said, “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.”

The two approvals represent successes for Trump as they involve people with significant financial and social media impact, as well as business expertise. Musk had previously shown his dissatisfaction with Democratic President Biden and has become more aligned with Republican President Trump in the past few months. Nevertheless, the comments he made on Saturday were his most explicit public support of Trump’s reelection campaign. Bloomberg News reported that Musk made a financial contribution to a group supporting former President Donald Trump. The sources familiar with the donation stated that the undisclosed amount was given to America PAC, a pro-Trump super PAC. The PAC is expected to reveal its donors on July 17. Although Musk has not publicly endorsed any candidate for the 2024 election, he has been more vocal about politics on X. Leading up to the election, Musk criticized President Biden’s immigration policies on X, which reflected conservative perspectives.

In September, he visited the U.S.-Mexico border at Eagle Pass, Texas, and expressed his concerns about the escalating situation. Additionally, Musk has been vocal in his criticism of President Joe Biden and his administration following the tragic murder of University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley by an illegal immigrant.

“Dems won’t deport, because every illegal is a highly likely vote at some point,” Musk wrote on his X platform. “That simple incentive explains what seems to be insane behavior. However, it was later revealed by the New York Times that the MSNBC personalities actually covered the four-day convention from the convenience of their Manhattan headquarters.

President Biden has tested positive for Covid-19. This information was recently disclosed by Janet Murguia, the president and CEO of Unidos US. Biden was scheduled to deliver a speech at the organization’s conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday evening.

“I was just on the phone with President Biden. And he shared his deep disappointment at not being able to join us this afternoon. The president has been at many events as we all know and he just tested positive for Covid,” Murguía told attendees.

Earlier today following his first event in Las Vegas, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He is vaccinated and boosted and he is experiencing mild symptoms. He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time. The White House will provide regular updates on the President’s status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation.

The President presented this afternoon with upper respiratory symptoms, to include rhinorhea (runny nose) and non-productive cough, with general mailaise. He felt okay for his first event of the day, but given that he was not feeling better, point of care testing for COVID-19 was conducted, and the results were positive for the COVID-19 virus. Given this, the President will be self-isolating in accordance with CDC guidance for symptomatic individuals. PCR confirmation testing will be pending. His symptoms remain mild, his respiratory rate is normal at 16, his temperature is normal at 97.8 and his pulse oximetry is normal at 97%. The President has received his first dose of Paxlovid. He will be self-isolating at his home in Rehoboth.

The announcement was made shortly after Biden’s interview with BET, where he mentioned the possibility of withdrawing from the presidential race upon receiving medical advice from a doctor.

“If I had some medical condition that emerged, if somebody, if doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem.”

Top Democrat CONVICTED

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has called for the resignation of Democratic Senator Menendez (D-NJ) following his conviction on federal corruption charges. The verdict was delivered by the jury after a lengthy nine-week trial in Manhattan, as reported by Slay News. After three days of deliberation, Menendez was found guilty on all 18 federal charges. Sen. Schumer has emphasized the importance of doing the right thing and stepping down from his position.

In a statement shortly after the verdict, Schumer said:

“In light of this guilty verdict, Senator Menendez must now do what is right for his constituents, the Senate, and our country, and resign.”

The Democratic Senate leader had refrained from urging Menendez to step down. The leadership declined to comment, despite recognizing the gravity of the accusations.

This was in spite of the Senate’s appeals, including from Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), for Menendez to either step down or be ousted. However, with the senator from New Jersey being convicted by a jury of his peers, Schumer now seems willing to make the request.

Rep. Andy Kim (D-NJ), who is vying for Menendez’s Senate seat in November with the Democratic Party’s endorsement, has also added his voice to the calls for the convicted senator to resign.

President Joe Biden is standing by his choice to inform donors that it was “time” to target former President Donald Trump just days before an assassination attempt. When questioned by NBC News’ Lester Holt, the president addressed his provocative language about Trump in the context of the attempt on his life.

“Well, let’s talk about the conversation this has started. And it’s really about language. When we say out loud and the consequences of those, you called your opponent an existential threat. On a call a week ago, you said it’s time to put Trump in the bullseye. There’s some dispute about the context, but I think you appreciate that words matter,” Holt said.

Biden responded, “I didn’t say crosshairs. I’m talking about focus on. Look, the truth of the matter was when I guess I was talking about it at the time, was there was very little focus on Trump’s agenda.

Now, my, my, my opponent is against that rhetoric. He talks about a bloodbath if he loses, talking about how he’s kind of forgive of or actually, I guess, suspend the sentences of all those who were arrested and sentenced to go to jail because of what happened in the Capitol. I’m not out there making fun of like, I remember the picture of Donald Trump when Nancy Pelosi was hit with a hammer.. joking about it.”

The Cook Political Report has changed its prediction for the 2024 presidential election to favor former President Donald Trump.

Amy Walter, the editor of the non-partisan election forecaster, said that the Democratic Party is in a state of suspended animation as of July 9. President Joe Biden has said he doesn’t plan to drop out of the race. Walter said that some people she talked to think Biden will quit because of his poor poll numbers, but it’s not likely.

According to its latest Electoral Map prediction, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada have all moved from being classified as “toss-up” to “lean Republican,” giving Trump 268 electoral votes.

Cook Political changed the status of Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Nebraska’s 2nd District from “likely Democrat” to “lean Democrat,” which suggests that Trump may be able to win these blue states. Only 226 of the 270 electoral votes Biden needs are in his column. The other 44 must-win contests are Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Dave Wasserman, Cook Senior Editor, said that the idea that the presidential election is a Toss Up was a stretch even before the debate. Today, Trump is ahead of Biden and has a better chance of winning the 270 electoral votes. According to the Cook prediction, Trump can win the election by winning one of the three states that are toss-up.

In spite of having hosted a fundraiser for President Joe Biden just three weeks prior, Oscar-winning actor George Clooney urged Democrats to select someone else as their presidential nominee in an opinion piece published in the New York Times on Wednesday.

As the Democratic nominee, Biden has come under growing pressure to withdraw after he repeatedly froze and made a number of grammatical errors in a CNN-hosted presidential debate on June 27 against former President Donald Trump. Referring to Biden’s mental health issues, Clooney stated in the opinion piece that the Biden he saw at a fundraising event on June 15 for the president’s reelection campaign was the same Biden at the debate.

“It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate,” Clooney wrote.

Clooney acknowledged that Biden seemed uninterested at the June fundraiser, but his opinion piece didn’t appear until July 10.

But our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn’t see what we just saw,” Clooney added. “We’re all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we’ve opted to ignore every warning sign. The George Stephanopoulos interview only reinforced what we saw the week before.”
