Breaking: Geraldo Reveals What’s Next After Getting Fired From Fox

(CBrief) – Former Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera is making the rounds on left-wing media outlets after being let go from the network earlier this month.

Thursday evening, Rivera was a guest on NewsNation, where he appeared alongside Chris Cuomo, who was fired from CNN last year.

Earlier in the day, Rivera was a guest of “The View,” where he also discussed his firing from Fox News and proceeded to criticize former Fox colleagues. Specifically, he said he had a “very toxic relationship with another of the cast members” on “The Five,” but he declined to name names.

During his interview with Cuomo, Rivera was asked why he left the network after more than 25 years, responding that, in actuality, it was the other way around, NewsNation Now reported.

“Fox left me. They fired me from the number one rated show ‘The Five.’ After they fired me, I said, ‘Well, wait a second. You know, I don’t want to work here anymore.’ If you are firing me from the number one show, what are you going to do?” he said, according to Deadline.

“After they fired me, they gave me a plethora of options, other programs I could do … but I said, ‘No, I don’t want to do that,’” Rivera said, NewsNation Now noted, adding:

Rivera, who joined Fox in 2001 as a war correspondent, tweeted last month that he had been fired as a co-host on “The Five.” Earlier Thursday, Rivera said on ABC’s “The View” that he had a “toxic relationship” with one of the other co-hosts, but did not disclose which one.

Rivera frequently sparred with panelist Greg Gutfeld, and their battles recently grew increasingly personal, USA Today reported.

Rivera had previously touted his appearances on his Twitter account, which led many to respond that they wouldn’t be tuning in.

Some responses included, “I will not be seeing this;” “You’ll fit right in there;” and “I’ll pass.”

Rivera told Cuomo that his criticism of Tucker Carlson, who Fox took off the air in April, was a turning point for him.

“When Tucker Carlson came up with his bizarre notion that Jan. 6 was an inside job, that it was federal informants who were causing trouble, that it wasn’t the insurrection that the rest of us saw, I said that that was a bunch of BS. I called BS on it,” Rivera said, per The Wrap.

“I got a call as soon as that was published in The Washington Post from Fox executives, who said, ‘You’re suspended. You’re not supposed to speak to the press unless you clear it with us’ — which, of course, is Catch-22 because they never clear it,” he added.

Last week, in an interview with commentator and comedian Russell Brand on Brand’s podcast on Friday, Carlson said he interviewed Steven Sund, who was chief of the Capitol Police on the day of the riot, but that he was fired before the interview aired. He told Brand that Sund confirmed what Carlson has said for more than a year — that federal agents were rife throughout the Jan. 6 mob that rioted at the Capitol.

Carlson also praised former President Donald Trump’s stance on Ukraine, noting that he seems to be the only major political figure in Washington right now that is against the war and wants to stop it.

That was apparently too much for Rivera.

“Due respect to Tucker Carlson, but he’s as full of s**t about Ukraine as he was about January 6th,” he tweeted. “His smiley face doesn’t change fact Russia invaded sovereign Ukraine; 1000’s are dead, including women & children, the world order is assailed and Putin is a punk.”
