House Speaker Mike Johnson declared the Senate border legislation, crafted by both Senate Republicans and Democrats, as futile. This legislation would pave the way for an estimated 1.8 million undocumented individuals to cross our border each year.
Additionally, it proposes allocating billions of American tax dollars to Ukraine and Israel, enabling them to safeguard their borders. Regrettably, this approach leaves our own border vulnerable and unprotected.
“Mitch McConnell and James Lankford want Republicans to vote for an amnesty bill that only gives $650 million to finish the border wall, but gives $60 BILLION to Ukraine,” Donald Trump, Jr. wrote. “They really do put America Last.”
Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) said the bill is an amnesty plan that will erase our borders.
“The Senate AMNESTY bill erases our borders,” Miller said. “Every Senator took an oath to uphold our laws, including our border security & immigration laws. The Senators want to allow 5,000 illegal immigrants to walk across our border per day. NO! This is AMERICA LAST!”
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) announced she is a hard no.
“It is against the law for an individual to illegally cross into our country — it’s incredible that still needs to be said. We are a nation of law and order, yet the Biden administration has allowed over 8.8 million illegal immigrants to flood our border,” Blackburn wrote on X. “I will never vote to make illegal immigration legal, and I will not support this deal.”
The bill also forces any future Presidents (AKA Trump) to follow its mandates.
“The Senate Amnesty Bill literally would force President Trump to let in illegals well into his term,” Rep. Matt Gaetz said. “Any Republican who votes for this is no better than a Democrat.”
Lawmakers were additionally appalled by the colossal sum of funding allocated for Ukraine.
“Fun fact, the U.S. Marine Corps budget in FY23 was $53.8 billion. This bill would give Ukraine more than $60 billion,” said Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT).
