Dems FURIOUS After Congress Passes This New Law

The House, under GOP control, approved a bill mandating the deportation of illegal immigrants who attack police officers, despite most Democrats opposing the measure. This is just one of many bills House Republican leaders plan to vote on during National Police Week. The bill was passed by a vote of 265 to 148, with 54 Democrats supporting the GOP.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., who is leading the push to pass The Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act is the name of the legislation, said : “There is no reason that an illegal alien who attacks our law enforcement should remain in our country; that shows zero respect for our rule of law or our institutions, and they will not be positive contributors to society.”

The bill requires federal authorities to detain illegal immigrants until they are deported, and it introduces a new category of inadmissibility for migrants, specifically targeting those who have assaulted police officers. Representative Van Drew provided this information. After the bill was passed, Representative Tom Emmer, the House Majority Whip and the third-ranking Republican, expressed his disapproval, stating that House Democrats prioritized protecting violent, illegal immigrants over law enforcement officers. He further criticized the Democratic Party for being the most anti-law enforcement party in history.

This proposal comes in response to a series of recent incidents where illegal immigrants have assaulted police officers, gaining national attention. These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges posed by the illegal immigration crisis at the southern border under President Joe Biden’s immigration policies. In late January, a video captured a group of illegal immigrants violently attacking two police officers in Times Square, New York City. Additionally, in early March, a man who entered the U.S. illegally was accused of causing the death of a Washington State Patrol trooper by striking him with his vehicle on an interstate highway, as reported by Fox 13.

Since President Biden reversed many of former President Donald Trump’s strict immigration and border enforcement policies on his first day in office, millions of people have been allowed into the country. As a result, immigration has become a top concern for voters heading into the 2024 elections, along with the economy.

Based on the ABC/Ipsos poll conducted from March 8 to 9 with 539 adults, Trump was trusted by 36 percent of respondents, while Biden was trusted by 33 percent. In terms of job performance, Trump outperformed President Biden in all areas except abortion and climate change, as per The Post Millennial’s report on the survey.

Trump received a 49 percent approval rating on the economy, surpassing Biden’s 37 percent. On inflation, 45 percent approved of Trump, compared to 31 percent for Biden. For crime, Trump had a 41 percent favorable rating, while Biden had 35 percent. Similarly, on immigration, Trump received a 45 percent approval rating, while Biden lagged behind at 29 percent.

“Significantly more Americans name immigration as the most important problem facing the U.S. (28%) than did a month ago (20%). Immigration has now passed the government as the most often cited problem, after the two issues tied for the top position for the past two months. The government ranked first each month from January through November 2023,” the Gallup polling firm noted.
