Elon Musk has criticized Green Day for shamelessly promoting the Democrat establishment during the New Year’s Eve concert of the pseudo punk rock band.
During their performance, the politically charged singer Billie Joe Armstrong altered the lyrics of one of their songs to attack President Donald Trump and his supporters.
While singing the band’s popular 2004 hit song “American Idiot” on Sunday night, Armstrong replaced the original lyrics, “I’m not a part of the redneck agenda,” with “I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda.”
However, this move has resulted in widespread ridicule, as the supposedly “anti-establishment” band’s lyrics closely resemble the anti-Trump rhetoric of Democrat President Joe Biden.
Musk’s response to the band’s political lyrics quickly gained traction and became viral.
“Green Day goes from raging against the machine to milquetoastedly raging for it,” Musk shared in an X post on Sunday evening.
The billionaire businessperson further included two emojis that depict laughter and tears in response to an article from Not the Bee, which also ridiculed Green Day for the modified line.
