Representative Matt Gaetz seems ready to act on his previous statement to challenge House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s position, following accusations by the Florida Republican that McCarthy had struck a deal with Democrats to pass a short-term government funding bill.
However, in a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday, Gaetz anticipated that Democrats would come to McCarthy’s aid, as the Speaker had previously challenged Gaetz to submit a motion to remove him from his position.
