Rocker Billie Joe Armstrong tossed what seemed to be a rubber head resembling former President Donald Trump into the crowd during a Green Day concert on Monday. This incident occurred less than a month after the assassination attempt on Trump. The band was performing at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. as part of their current tour when Armstrong decided to carry out this act while singing “Jesus of Suburbia.”
The rubber head featured the word “Idiot” on its forehead. Armstrong lifted the prop head from the top, mimicking a decapitated head, before throwing it enthusiastically into the audience. The fans expressed their approval by cheering.

Billie Joe Armstrong has frequently expressed his liberal political views during Green Day concerts. In 2022, he made headlines by shouting “fuck America” and declaring that he was renouncing his citizenship after the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade. This behavior is reminiscent of Kathy Griffin’s controversial photo with a prop head of Trump in 2017, and it comes shortly after an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
