Charlamagne Tha God, a radio host, urged President Joe Biden to utilize the Supreme Court’s recent immunity ruling to imprison former President Trump and protect democracy. In a podcast episode uploaded on YouTube last Friday, Charlamagne emphasized the importance of taking action against Trump, who he believes poses a significant threat to democracy.
The Supreme Court’s ruling in July established that presidents are immune from criminal prosecution for their “official acts” while in office. Charlamagne expressed concerns that if Trump were to be reelected, he could potentially detain Biden and his family, further emphasizing the urgency of using the immunity ruling to hold Trump accountable.
“Biden’s in office, so all of these kingly powers that you’re talking about the president having, Biden has now,” Charlamagne said. “And he could use some of those kingly powers to protect democracy, but he won’t.”
