Progressives are making a desperate attempt to shield President Joe Biden from criticism, but their efforts are proving to be ineffective.
Rachel Maddow, a host on the left-leaning MSNBC, made an effort to safeguard the president’s image in light of the recent release of special counsel Robert Hur’s report on his mishandling of classified documents.
According to Hur’s report, the 81-year-old Biden is expected to portray himself as a sympathetic and well-intentioned elderly man with a faulty memory, which would make it unlikely for him to be convicted in a court of law.
Maddow’s rejoinder: “He rides a bike.”
Not only is that desperate, but it is also foolish.
Why? If the ability to ride a bike safely was a requirement for a presidential candidate, Biden might not be eligible to run this year.
Maddow and the other panelists strongly disagreed with Biden’s critics, accusing them of engaging in “ageism” – it is typical of progressives to resort to name-calling in an attempt to divert attention from the truth.
MSNBC host Chris Hayes stated that “the fact of his age” cannot be refuted, making it a “useful political tool” for Biden’s opponents.
“If someone says, ‘You’re too far left,’ you can tack to the center, but there’s nothing — the man is 80 years old,” he said.
Mr. Hayes, what is your proposal? Are you implying that Biden’s age is a hindrance and we have no other choice but to stick with him? How long will this continue? Until he becomes completely incoherent on stage? I can almost imagine Biden exclaiming, “I’m melting! I’m melting!”
To further undermine Biden’s chances, Maddow added, “He rides a bike.”

The Libs of TikTok account on X was quick to point out the obvious: “If knowing how to ride a bike is a prerequisite for being President of the United States, I have some bad news for Rachel Maddow …”
