(CBrief) – A stunned Tucker Carlson reacted to a story by a Daily Wire investigative reporter regarding some unorthodox hiring practices at airline JetBlue. The top-ranked Fox News host began his show by pointing out the ongoing widespread protests in China against repressive and restrictive “Zero COVID” policies, the largest against the ChiCom regime in decades.
The host also blasted a number of American public officials and corporate entities, as well as prominent people like National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, a retired U.S. Navy admiral, the NBA, and Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz.
The Daily Wire added:
Carlson claimed that greed or complicity had caused them to stay silent on China’s crackdown against its own citizens, noting that some of them had advocated for the kind of COVID policy that Xi had put into practice and a few had even praised the authoritarian regime for its approach to the pandemic.
Carlson later brought on Rosiak to discuss the case of John Perrys, a convicted felon and reported employee of JetBlue who in 2005 broke into a judge’s home and assaulted his daughter as she came out of the shower. Perrys was released in 2014 and according to the Florida Department of Corrections, he will be on felony probation until 2044.
Perrys’ hiring by the airline is bizarre, Carlson asserted, because while JetBlue brought him aboard, the airline refuses to hire unvaccinated applicants citing “safety” issues.
“Apparently, JetBlue won’t hire unvaccinated pilots, but they will hire violent convicted felons to fly their airplanes,” one pilot said on condition of anonymity.
A second pilot added that Perrys is “on the line as a flying pilot in control of a plane with up to two hundred paying and oblivious souls on board.”
About a year ago, the airline implemented a companywide vaccine mandate, justifying it by noting that JetBlue is a federal contractor and thus required by law to follow the federal mandate.

However, that rule was delayed and then eventually blocked by a federal court injunction that was just lifted last month. Now, the rule isn’t even being actively enforced.
Both Carlson and Rosiak mocked the mandate and characterized it as unsound and inappropriate following reports this month that the majority of people now dying from COVID have been vaccinated.
“Is this a real story?” Carlson asked, according to the Daily Wire.
“They won’t hire you if you haven’t had the vaxx, but they did hire John Perrys,” Rosiak observed. “And interestingly enough, I thought you would get a kick out of this, the crime he was convicted of was assault with a deadly weapon while wearing a mask.”
In September, a federal court struck down the Biden administration’s school vaccine and mask mandates.
U.S. District Judge Terry A. Doughty in Louisiana blocked the administration’s mask and COVID-19 vaccine mandates for staffers of federally funded Head Start programs, The Hill reported, adding:
In his ruling, Doughty found that the plaintiffs had satisfied the requirements to warrant a permanent injunction. He ruled that the plaintiffs — a group of Head Start teachers from across the country along with several state governments — faced a “substantial threat of irreparable injury” if the mandate wasn’t taken down.
“Plaintiff States will incur the increased cost of training and of enforcing the Head Start Mandate, will be unable to enforce their laws, and will have their police power encroached. The Court finds that this would be an irreparable injury,” Doughty wrote in his ruling, according to The Hill.
The Liberty Justice Center, which was involved in the suit, noted that Sandy Brick, a teacher, filed suit in December in Doughty’s court to block the mandate. She is also being represented by the Pelican Institute for Public Policy, according to a press release from the justice center.
“Although President Biden recently declared that the ‘pandemic is over,’ the fight to restore Americans’ individual liberties is not,” said Daniel Suhr, managing attorney at the Liberty Justice Center. “We will continue to fight for teachers like Sandy and the low-income students they serve until every illegal and unjustified mandate is wiped from the books. Today’s decision is a significant step toward undoing the injustice perpetrated against everyday Americans throughout the COVID-19 crisis.”
Sarah Harbison, general counsel at the Pelican Institute for Public Policy, noted as well following the ruling: “Louisiana teacher Sandy Brick has been serving her students through adversity and uncertainty the last two years. Today, this decision vindicates her right to teach without sacrificing her freedom.”
