(TStarnes) – The House failed to pass a resolution to censure Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., on Wednesday.

There were 20 House Republicans siding with Democrats to table the censure resolution (225-196-7). There were seven members who merely voted present, including two Republicans and five Democrats, The Hill reported.

The motion to censure Schiff, the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee who led the first House Democrat impeachment of former President Donald Trump, was brought forward by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla.

The 20 Republicans who voted to kill the resolution were: Kelly Armstrong (ND); Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR); Juan Ciscomani (AZ); Tom Cole (OK); Warren Davidson (OH); Brian Fitzpatrick (PA); Kay Granger (TX); Garret Graves (LA); Thomas Kean Jr. (NJ); Kevin Kiley (CA); Young Kim (CA); Michael Lawler (NY); Thomas Massie (KY); Tom McClintock (CA); Marc Molinaro (NY); Jay Obernolte (CA); Michael Simpson (ID); Michael Turner (OH); David Valadao (CA); Steve Womack (AR).

It took just a simple majority vote to table the censure.

Luna’s resolution sought to censure Schiff “for conduct that misleads the American people in a way that is not befitting an elected Member of the House of Representatives.”

It also sought an Ethics Committee investigation into Schiff’s “lies, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information,” The Hill reported.

Schiff had condemned Luna’s effort as “false and defamatory,” according to The Hill.

“This partisan resolution to censure and fine me $16 million is only the latest attempt to gratify the former president’s MAGA allies, and distract from Donald Trump’s legal troubles by retaliating against me for my role in exposing his abuses of power, and leading the first impeachment against him,” Schiff wrote in a statement.

“The intent of this resolution goes far beyond me and my role leading investigations of Donald Trump, and his first impeachment — an effort I would undertake again, and in a heartbeat, if it were necessary,” he added. “This resolution plainly demonstrates the lengths our GOP colleagues will go to protect Donald Trump’s infinite lies — lies that incited a violent attack on this very building.”

The singer was hit with a massive backlash for calling people who boycotted Bud Light “a**holes.”

Brooks claimed that people who turned on Bud Light over the Dylan Mulvaney marketing stunt don’t have “manners.”

He then declared that he will sell Bud Light in his bar and suggested that people who don’t like the brand can drink elsewhere.

The Open Society Foundations currently pours around $1.5 billion a year into its causes around the world.

Alex Soros promises to ramp up efforts to fund leftist causes and political candidates.

Speaking about his goals, Alex Soros said he was concerned about the possibility of President Donald Trump returning to the White House.

He suggested that the Soros family will contribute significantly to Democrats in the 2024 presidential election.

“As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too,” he said.

Soros-funded political action committees have become a major factor in American elections.

George Soros has been the Democratic Party’s largest donor in recent U.S. elections and his funding of smaller local prosecutor races has allowed his to seize control of America’s justice system.

Alex Soros said he is currently working to improve Hispanic and black support for Democrat politicians.

The new leader of the Soros empire has visited Democrat President Joe Biden’s White House at least 17 times since 2021, according to Fox News.

Three visits took place between February 8 and Feb.10, as Slay News reported.

Several top Biden administration officials are listed on the visitor logs as the ones who met Alex Soros.

“Alexander Soros is poised to lead his family’s multibillion-dollar political and philanthropic network,” said Scott Walter, president of Capital Research Center, according to the Washington Examiner.

“Like his father, he cozies up to White House and congressional leaders willing to do the family’s bidding on such issues as crime, immigration, election policy, and more, as the Soroses exploit every type of giving: money to parties, independent expenditure groups, and so-called ‘charities,’” he said.

According to the New York Post, Mike Howell, director of the Oversight Project at the Heritage Foundation, said the access Alex Soros has to the Biden White House is a major concern.

Howell warns that the Soros family has already “done tremendous damage to our country.”

(CBrief) – Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to handle the investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents, has a checkered legal past that includes a brutal smackdown by a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court.

According to the Western Journal, Smith — then head of the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Unit after being appointed by far-left AG Eric Holder — led the prosecution of then-Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell of Virginia, who was convicted on corruption charges in 2014.

In that case, the government argued that McConnell improperly took gifts from a political donor, but in 2016, as Politico reported, a unanimous Supreme Court ruled 8-0 to overturn the conviction. (Justice Antonin Scalia had passed away suddenly and then-President Barack Obama had nominated then-U.S. District Judge Merrick Garland to replace him, but that nomination was blocked).

In the high court’s ruling, Chief Justice John Roberts shredded Smith’s prosecution for relying on a “boundless” definition of what constituted corruption.

“The decision from the eight-justice court could make it tougher for prosecutors to prove corruption cases against politicians in cases where there is no proof of an explicit agreement linking a campaign donation or gift to a contract, grant or vote,” Politico’s Josh Gerstein wrote at the time. “The court’s opinion, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, rejected the government’s position that simply agreeing to meet with someone on account of such largesse could be enough to constitute an official act that could trigger a corruption conviction.”

“There is no doubt that this case is distasteful; it may be worse than that. But our concern is not with tawdry tales of Ferraris, Rolexes, and ball gowns. It is instead with the broader legal implications of the Government’s boundless interpretation of the federal bribery statute,” Roberts wrote in the ruling.

“A more limited interpretation of the term ‘official act’ leaves ample room for prosecuting corruption, while comporting with the text of the statute and the precedent of this Court.”

Meanwhile, there are other disturbingly political aspects to Smith. For one, his wife produced a hagiography of Michelle Obama for Netflix:

The New York Post reported: “Katy Chevigny is credited as a producer on ‘Becoming,’ a 2020 documentary about Obama, and Federal Election Commission records show that she donated $2,000 in support of Biden’s presidential run that same year.”

The Post added that Smith’s wife “also worked on the 2018 documentary titled ‘Dark Money.’ The film is described as a ‘political thriller’ that ‘takes viewers to Montana – a front line in the fight to preserve fair elections nationwide – to follow an intrepid local journalist working to expose the real-life impact of the US Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.’”

The Western Journal explained:

Citizens United v. FEC was a landmark Supreme Court case which held that prohibitions on independent expenditures by corporations or private groups in elections was an unconstitutional breach of the First Amendment’s right to free expression.

On Thursday, Smith charged the former president with 37 counts related to his handling of classified documents. If he is found guilty on all counts, Trump — who is Joe Biden’s chief rival in next year’s presidential election — reportedly faces decades in prison.

According to the indictment, Trump allegedly showed classified documents to a number of people who did not have the proper security clearances on at least two separate occasions. The DOJ alleges that both instances took place at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, N.J.

“We have one set of laws in this country, and they apply to everyone,” Smith said in announcing the charges last week. “My office will seek a speedy trial in this matter, consistent with the public interest and the rights of the accused.”

“It is very important for me to note that the defendant, in this case, must be presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. To that end, my office will seek a speedy trial in this matter.”

(CBrief) – A pair of former federal prosecutors have identified a number of flaws in the 49-page indictment against former President Donald Trump they suggest will work in his favor if the case goes to trial.

Former DOJ Deputy Assistant Attorney General Victoria Toensing and former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Joe diGenova noted that all the allegations are problematic for Trump if they are true, but that doesn’t mean the case is rock-solid.

As reported by Newsmax, “Trump on Thursday was indicted, accused, among other things, of mishandling classified documents at his Florida estate. The prosecution marks the first time in U.S. history that a former president faces criminal charges by the federal government he once oversaw. He faces the possibility of prison if convicted.”

Toensing said Friday during an appearance on Newsmax’s “Chris Salcedo Show,” “The allegations are rather problematic for the president if they are true.”

“We all know Trump can be kind of undisciplined; that said, the problem here is the abuse of discretion. That conduct is not wrought in any way to pursue a former president of the United States and perhaps a future president of the United States,” she noted.

“I want to tell [special counsel] Jack Smith there are two systems of justice because I could have in 2017 gone to the Justice Department and pursued an investigation into Hillary Clinton and found as damning statements about why she eliminated 30,000 emails, why she kept an unsecured server in her basement and why she beat her phone up with a hammer. I could have brought just as damning an indictment,” she added.

DiGenova, meanwhile, told Newsmax he was very disappointed with lawyers “on both sides of this case,” adding that Trump’s new legal team should “file a series of motions in front of the court about prosecutorial misconduct, the illegality of the underlying charges and all the things you need to file in a case like this because jury selection in Florida is going to be a lot better for the president than it would have been in the District of Columbia.”

Another former top Justice Department official who served during the Trump administration has found at least one fatal flaw with the indictment, should the federal judge in the case decide to consider it.

Jeffrey Clark, who served as an assistant attorney general in the Trump administration, said on Friday after reading through the indictment that there is something on page three that is troubling for the prosecution.

According to the indictment, Trump allegedly showed classified documents to a number of people who did not have the proper security clearances on at least two separate occasions. The DOJ alleges that both instances took place at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, N.J.

Details regarding one of the alleged instances were leaked to CNN.

The network reported on June 2 that federal prosecutors had “obtained an audio recording of a summer 2021 meeting in which former President Donald Trump acknowledges he held onto a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran, multiple sources told CNN, undercutting his argument that he declassified everything.”

Naturally, the network did not reveal its source for the leak.

On Friday, Clark noted on Twitter that the leak to the media is grounds for having the case thrown out.

“I’m beginning to read the indictment against Trump,” he wrote. “But even three pages in, it’s clear that the leaks that preceded the indictment are far too close to what is actually being pleaded by DOJ to be a coincidence.”

“For example, in paragraph 6a on page 3, we hear about the recording of the Bedminster call, which the MSNBC’s of the world have been beating a dead horse about for quite a while based on such leaks. This means that Trump lawyers could not possibly be the source of the leaks,” Clark continued.

“Ergo, the leaks are coming from DOJ,” he said. “They must be investigated and punished. Also, this is grounds for granting a motion highlighting jury pool poisoning and dismissing the indictment before it reaches even its one-month birthday.”

(CBrief) – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene did not mince words regarding what she believes should happen next with President Joe Biden following a secretive meeting at the Capitol on Thursday.

The Georgia Republican said that after viewing a sensitive but unclassified FBI document sought by the House Oversight Committee but which is being withheld by Director Christopher Wray, she is confident that Biden should be “prosecuted.”

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has said that the FD-1023 document, created by the FBI based on a “highly credible” source, indicates Biden’s involvement in a pay-to-play scheme during his tenure as vice president. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller, Greene disclosed the contents of the document that she read at a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF).

She mentioned that she and fellow members were prohibited from making copies or taking notes, but she disregarded these restrictions and managed to take “very detailed notes” anyway.

Greene told the Caller that information in the document “implicates Joe Biden in a pay-to-play scheme bribery scheme to get a prosecutor fired that was investigating Burisma where Hunter Biden sat on the board.”

In addition, she said the FBI informant is “extremely credible” and added that the document “implicates our national security” because it puts Americans “at risk” regarding the war in Ukraine.

“This is an impeachable document. President Biden should be impeached. Secondly, he should be prosecuted. This is unbelievable. It’s a pay-to-play scheme. He took a bribe from a foreign national in a foreign country that paid millions of dollars,” Greene told the outlet. “He needs to be prosecuted for this, and I would argue that he should serve jail time.”

“If we were not politically divided – if we were the United States that used to exist, that is righteous, and just, if we were a just nation, Joe Biden would be impeached. No one could argue with this. Democrat or Republican, I would say no one can argue with it now,” she added.

In April, after reading sensitive documents, she alleged that not only has the Biden family been involved over the years in illicit business deals in Ukraine, Russia, and China, but that there could be some links to a trafficking scheme.

She said that she believes the Biden family benefitted financially from Joe Biden’s various positions of authority over the decades, claiming that the “Biden crime family participated in human trafficking by soliciting prostitutes from the United States and abroad in countries like Russia and Ukraine.”

Although risky business involving Hunter Biden was already revealed prior to the 2020 election, Greene maintains that the House Oversight Committee can uncover links between other family members and financial transactions related to some of the women associated with Hunter.

And given that Biden’s son has struggled with drug addiction and other issues, Greene’s conjecture may not be entirely unfounded, Townhall noted.

Greene and several lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee made their allegations after reviewing thousands of financial records from the Treasury Department.

“Just a complete conglomerate of Lies,” Greene said. “There’s a lot of information the American people deserve to know of the Biden family and the crimes they’ve been involved in. I just saw evidence of human trafficking that involves prostitutes not only from here in the United States but foreign countries like Russia and Ukraine.”

(SNews) – A man has been arrested by police in Reading, Pennsylvania for quoting verses from the Bible in public.

The man, Damon Atkins, was arrested after cops saw him trying to quote the Bible to Pride-rally attendees who were across the street from him

Cell phone footage of the incident, which took place Saturday outside City Hall at 815 Washington Street, has been going viral on social media

The first annual Reading Pride March & Rally was underway at the time.

Reading is about 90 minutes northwest of Philadelphia.

The Lancaster Patriot first reported on the incident, revealing that the man who recorded the video of the arrest is Matthew Wear.

The outlet said it spoke to both Atkins and Wear.

Wear told the Patriot he’d been preaching to the Pride-rally attendees prior to Atkins’ arrival.

He revealed that he was told to stop by the same police officer who later handcuffed Atkins.

“A cop got in my face, laid hands on me, and threatened to arrest me if I didn’t stop,” Wear says in the video.

The outlet said Atkins was standing on the public sidewalk holding signs just after 10 am.

The police then started to target Atkins, the outlet revealed.

Wear captured the interaction between Atkins and the officer on his cell phone.

The main officer was identified by the Patriot as Sgt. Bradley McClure.

McClure is standing in the street and speaking to Atkins, who is standing on the sidewalk.

“This is public property,” Atkins tells the officer.

The cop agrees it is public property but still insists that Atkins “let them have their event” and “respect it.”

“You know who’s cheering for us?” Atkins replies.

“The people that are in hell.”

The Patriot said Atkins later explained that he was referring to the parable of the rich man and Lazarus in the Gospel of Luke.

In the parable, a rich man begs Father Abraham to send someone to warn his brothers about the place of torment he’s in.

As the officer turns and walks away, Atkins says, “So you do you, and I’m gonna do me.”

With that, Atkins begins speaking, hollering “You!” across the street and then uttering the words, “God is not…”

The officer then says, “That’s it!” as he turns back and arrests Atkins.

At this point, the Pride-rally attendees applaud.

Atkins added to the Patriot that he was going to quote a portion of 1 Corinthians 14:33 “God is not the author of confusion.”

However, he didn’t finish speaking the verse because he was being arrested.

Moments later when a handcuffed Atkins continues trying to speak to the Pride-rally attendees, the officer turns him around and walks him up against a building’s outer wall.

Soon the officer walks Atkins away from the rally, as two other officers follow.

They can be seen sitting him on a curb while emptying his backpack.

“Sheer tyranny,” says Wear, who is still recording video of everything.

Meanwhile, a Pride representative mocks the incident over a loudspeaker, boasting that “protesters across the street” managed to “get themselves in trouble with the police.”

The crowd begins cheering as a fellow citizen is stripped of his rights in front of them.

The man on the mic then urges the protesters to get “some love into that heart of yours.”

Scott told the show’s co-hosts: “Progress in America is palpable.

“It can be measured in generations.

“So, what I’m suggesting is that yesterday’s exception is today’s rule,” he directly spoke to co-host Sunny Hostin.

He adds that the challenges of the past should not be viewed as those that exist today.

Goldberg responded by falsely claiming that Republicans want to drag the country back on race relations.

“How can you get your party to stop trying to stop the progression that people are making?” she asked Scott.

Scott responded by schooling Goldberg.

“It’s an issue of the heart,” Scott said.

“It’s not Republicans or Democrats.”

Ana Navarro then tried to suggest that the U.S. is racist because there are currently only 3 black senators.

But Scott reveals the progress.

In 10 years we’ve had “about half of all the African Americans who ever served in the Senate … this nation is making measurable progress in real time,” he explains.

The co-hosts then tried to argue that Trump tiptoeing down a ramp is worse than Biden falling over repeatedly in public.

“Why are we always talking about Biden’s age and not Donald Trump’s age?” Navarro asked.

“[Trump] could not walk down a ramp, could not hold a glass of water,” Hostin claimed.
