Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his personal gratitude to Speaker Mike Johnson for his decision that ensures the preservation of history. Johnson successfully guided a substantial $61 billion Ukraine aid package through the House on Saturday. The sight of numerous Democrats proudly waving Ukraine flags and applauding on the House floor during the bill’s passage will leave a lasting impact on conservatives, who feel betrayed by Johnson’s ascent within their ranks.
I am grateful to the United States House of Representatives, both parties, and personally Speaker Mike Johnson for the decision that keeps history on the right track.
Democracy and freedom will always have global significance and will never fail as long as America helps to…

“I am grateful to the United States House of Representatives, both parties, and personally Speaker Mike Johnson for the decision that keeps history on the right track,” a gleeful Zelensky posted on X after the vote.
He continued, “The vital U.S. aid bill passed today by the House will keep the war from expanding, save thousands and thousands of lives, and help both of our nations to become stronger.”

The debatability of that assessment cannot be denied. Undoubtedly, the Mike Johnson of just a few months ago would have vehemently contested it. However, the relentless and forceful persuasion from the determined Zelensky, who seemingly captivated the Louisiana Congressman during their encounter, along with the support from the White House, ultimately achieved its desired outcome.
Johnson’s triumph on Saturday solidified a remarkable turnaround from his longstanding stance of staunch opposition to advancing foreign aid without ensuring the security of America’s own borders. Yet, for Zelensky and the Democrats who proudly waved a foreign flag on the floor of the United States House of Representatives, Johnson’s abandonment of his previous position was cause for celebration.
