The surge in migrant arrests in the Swanton Sector shows no signs of slowing down, as weekly records continue to be broken in April. This region, situated along the U.S.-Canada border, consistently sees unprecedented numbers of migrant apprehensions month after month.
During the week of April 28 to May 4, Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia of the Swanton Sector reported that his agents apprehended 492 migrants. This staggering figure surpassed the total number of migrants detained in the sector, which encompasses eastern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire, throughout Fiscal Year 2021 – the year in which President Joe Biden assumed office.

Garcia stated that the most recent weekly high was set only a week prior, when 220 migrants were apprehended by Swanton Sector agents during the week of April 22.

Based on an unofficial report from the Border Patrol that was examined by Breitbart Texas, it was found that in the month of April, agents in the Swanton Sector detained close to 1,500 migrants. This number is more than double the apprehension of only 676 migrants in April 2023. The cumulative figures for the year in the Swanton Sector have surpassed 6,600 migrants, which represents an increase of almost 100 percent compared to the previous year.
